Author

Margaret Radisich Sleasman

I have many interests, love reading mystery books, anything about tigers, and grandkids (not particularly in that order). I wrote a Bible study and am pretty much unmoveable in my literal biblical view - so don't try. I am attempting to write a couple mysteries one for adults and one for pre-teens. I edited and published a monthly historical newsletter, "The Pacific Northwest Croatian" for seven years and learned much about my people during that time. I have been writing on Helium since July of 2009 and Faithwriters since December 2009. I found the humor section and discovered that humor may be my niche, but my first love is writing Christianity articles. I have five grandchildren. I have five children, grown - but not grown up. We have a German Shepherd (Kobe)and a potbelly pig (Porky). Spent 35 years of my life making concrete lawn ornaments. I am Croatian, my husband is German... a family of stubborn, but silly people. That's about it.

    Dedication

This book is dedicated to my family, and to all those reading this booklet that you will make your decision to become members of the Lord’s family.

I adhere to the King James Version because it is the closest translation to the

    original Scriptures.

The tombstone on the cover is not meant to be humorous; it is a very sad truth that happens to far too many people. We travel down life’s road oblivious to our demise, thinking that we will live a long healthy life and still have practically forever to think about illness or dying. I don’t claim personal knowledge of what happens after death, but the Bible is very clear on the issue and I would like to bring out what is said there so that you will get a chance to mull over the words and hopefully, you will take your study on this issue further so that you will be prepared for your date with eternity.

    The Real You

Take a look at the caterpillar, he is merely a worm or so he appears to the naked eye. The DNA of the caterpillar is a butterfly, so when the shell falls off the butterfly comes forth. Humans are much like the caterpillar - worms if you will; I know - some of us are pretty amazing looking, but we are still worms and most of us still have the DNA of a worm, so whatever we do to try to make ourselves better during our lifetime is pretty much wasted energy because our beauty will fade, we will get old and crusty, body parts will fail and then the body will die. If we are still worms at that time, well, we would rather not think of the consequences, so let's just say for now that we become nothing.

So what we need to decide here is who or what is the real you? A worm or a living soul that will go on for eternity in some form or another; the truth be told, you will go on for eternity and you do have the choice of where to spend it either as a worm or a child of God. You can go to Genesis 1:1 – In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Or you can go to Revelation 1:8, I am the alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Or you can go to any verse in between to learn of Him and His plan for you. Even in the Old Testament in Ezekiel 36:26 He says, A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. In the New Testament, I Peter 1:23 says, being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.

So the conclusion that we can come to is that the God that created everything is perfectly capable of changing our DNA (as described in the two verses above) from that of a worm to a child of the King. Both the worm and the child of the King are going to spend eternity somewhere and unless the worm's DNA changes, he is doomed to an eternity without God because in order to be part of God’s family, you must have His DNA.

So who is the real you? Whose DNA do you have? I know what will happen to the real me after my body dies because I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and have the DNA of the family of God. After your body dies, do you know what will happen to the real you? If you do not have Christ as your Savior, the Scripture explains in Revelation 20:11-15 what will happen to the real you:

"I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

So eventually the ones who believe in doing good works are going to be judged for their works; however, if they are not listed
