About this ebook

Taylor Sands is at work on her fourth illustrated children’s book at a rainforest lodge in Lamington National Park when she meets Carl Manning. Having just gotten her life in order after a catastrophic mistake, Carl sets Taylor’s inner alarm bells ringing, warning her to stay away. A profound attraction develops, as if fate has set them on a collision course in the lush forest around them. Will Taylor’s past prevent her from giving in to passion? And, is Carl a man who can learn what true love really means? Destiny is not always the path we want it to be, and sometimes dreams don’t come true. Will the fire of a brief encounter turn into a love that can last a lifetime? Only destiny, an emerald destiny, can say.

Linda Lee Rathbun

I am a dual citizen of the United States and Australia. I recently returned to the States after many years in Australia with my husband, Steve. Steve is a photographer, and together, we have had over 200 articles published in magazines worldwide. We have also had four 4WD touring guides to Australia published by Universal Publishers.Natural Wanders in Australia is a travel memoir based on a tour we did in 2000. For the photo album of this memoir, and for more information about my travel writing, please visit my website at www.lindaleerathbuncom-.Tjuringa was my first suspense novel; it was born from my travels in Australia's Outback, and from my strong attraction to Australia's Aboriginal people. When traveling, I love to find wonderful settings for my novels, such as Lamington National Park where my romance novel, Emerald Destiny is set, Lord Howe Island where Magic Surrender is set, and Melbourne where A Twist of Fate is set. Romances are fun to write since this genre is such a contrast to travel writing where so much nitty gritty information is required.I hope my writing expresses my love of nature in general, and of Australia in particular.Thank you.

I've read both Violet Midnight (Book 1 in the Enchanters Series) and Emerald Destiny. While I love the world that Allie Burke built in the first book, both books (but this one in particular) suffer from much omitted information. In Violet Midnight, we learn what an Enchanter is. Similar to witches, enchanters each have control of an element. Air, Earth, Fire, and Water. When their auras emerge, an Enchanter can call upon their power to do a variety of things, including control the weather, the earth, or even bring about the moon. There are some beautiful passages in both books. The style of writing is lyrical and while there are some editing issues, they are not major. However the omitted information is a problem. When we pick up Emerald Destiny, Book 2 in the series, we are introduced to Daniel, Abby, and Evan. These are the children we met in the Epilogue of Violet Midnight. Years have passed and the children are nearly nineteen now (at least Daniel and Abby are...we don't actually get an age on Evan, but it's assumed he's close to the same age). We learn very quickly that Evan is in love with Abby and Abby is in love with Evan. We also learn that their love is forbidden. What we don't learn is why. In fact, we don't learn that for nearly 30% of the book. The other thing we don't really learn is that Abby, Daniel, and Evan are all Enchanters. You can probably infer that, because, after all, this is a book about Enchanters, but there's no information about how their powers work, why they will and will not use them, or even the history of the feud between Evan's family and Abby's family. We know that they're not supposed to be together, but not why. The novel alternates between present, past, and one time, a further past, and while the author always lets us know what timeline we're in, the snippets we get of the past aren't enough to give us a good sense of everything that has gone on. I feel like both books in the Enchanters series are incomplete. they're short books, easily read in two days, but if they were perhaps 25% longer, I think they'd be significantly better. While I suspect the author wanted the reader to be able to draw their own conclusions in many places in the story, but the risk is too great. I found myself lost more than once in the first third of the book. If you read this book immediately after Violet Midnight, you might not be quite so lost. But if you take a break between books, as readers are often wont to do, you'll be left wondering many things. All in all, not a bad read, but a book (and a series) that would benefit from a heavy handed rewrite to address some of these holes.

OH MY GOODNESS!! I am so in love with this series! This second book in the Enchanters series is set twenty years after the events in Violet Midnight and focuses mainly on the relationship between Evan, Christian's son, and Abby, Jane and Elias' daughter. Their love is so strong, to the point where each has been watching over the other since they the age of six. But secretly, of course, due to their love being kind of forbidden since that age as well.Christian doesn't want his son to be hurt like he himself was hurt all those years ago by Jane. Every day, he feels a sense of loss, because he just loves her too much. Seeing her with Elias is painful, and he just doesn't want to watch Evan go through that.Abby is not really forbidden to see Evan, but Elias does not really like her to see him based on who his father is. But you can tell, even from the beginning, that not being with him just kills her, and vice versa.Along with Abby and Evan's relationship, we get a glimpse into the past. More specifically in Christian and Jane's past: how they met, their relationship that seemed just too good to be true, and then the thing that tore them apart. In this story, the past will connect with the present as Jane and Christian kind of revisit those feelings and that time. Was their separation a mistake? Or was it a lifetime of rejection between their ancestors that decided their fates?Oh, and we also get to learn a little more about Daniel, Abby's twin brother. And a love that he doesn't have the courage to pursue. But an epiphany just hit me about that love, and I hope to God that Daniel allows himself to pursue this girl in the next book, because it makes total sense for them to be together. This book had its flaws, but I DO NOT CARE!!! This series makes me all warm and fuzzy when I read it. The characters are all so amazing. Their magic is so beautiful, and I just want more. The way the author writes is practically indescribable. I cannot wait for the last in the series. I am literally jumping up and down in anticipation of reading it.

***I was gifted this book from the author in exchange for an honest review***Emerald Destiny picks up roughly fifteen years after the epilogue of Violet Midnight. In essence, it’s not really mandatory for the reader to read Violet Midnight before reading this one. Since the story takes such a wide leap, the reader won’t get lost by reading this alone, though to understand the small things hinted and mentioned from book 1 it probably would be better understood if the first book was read.Like Violet Midnight, Emerald Destiny is fast-paced; and if I’m not mistaken, a bit shorter in length than Violet Destiny. Either way, it’s no less enjoyable.I did find a few places where the editor could have given a little more help in how to word certain sentences, nothing major and nothing spelling wise. Just a couple of spots where I had to re-read to understand what the author was trying to make me see.Emerald Destiny will definitely bring out the emotion factor, which in my book makes it a bit better than Violet Midnight, since by this book the reader is familiar with the key characters and things are seen in whole new lights.I look forward to reading Amber Passion, the final book in this trilogy. This trilogy has ignited my love to read, which as many avid readers know tends to fade if you hit a book that isn’t that good. Thankfully this trilogy is amazing.I give this book 5 of 5 paws
