I have confidence and power in dealing with people....... Or another one just like it; I am in control of the situation......, or I am a strong and confident woman / man, and I...... Or how about the: I am no longer......... Self talk. And done really well, you write your statements down. You write them as a present tense positive statement. You carry that 2 by 5 card with you everywhere. You read your statements out loud, preferably in front of a mirror. And over time you find yourself using self talk more and more. Because there are some results showing up. Somewhere inside we know that we will do better in life if we keep this self talk thing up. But all too often, when it comes to self talk, the long term effort of keeping it up takes over and we let our efforts go down the drain. We feel terrible for not keeping it up, because we did see some results. Yet we wonder, did it really work.
