About this ebook

Racing for the Journey: How to Cultivate Self-Belief and Live in the Moment

Start living the way you want to. Those are grand words, but that is really what this book is about. And those words are often the solution to feeling blocked or stuck, or unaccomplished. Now is the time. We can wait till we are physically perfect before we decide to go out, we can wait until we've eaten all of the junk food in our house to go on a diet, but the truth is, we could easily just throw away those ideas and start now. This e-book isn't about going on a diet or travelling the world to discover oneself. It's about making the necessary changes in your attitudes, daily habits, and way of thinking in order to bring about positive changes in your life.
Whether you're dwelling too much in the past, worrying too much about the future, or disregarding both of these to the point where you don't think about the consequences of your present actions, this book is here to help you find a balance among the three. On our journey together, I will motivate you to dig deep inside yourself, learn how to be present in the moment, and guide you on your path towards happiness and complete self-confidence that extends far beyond the pages of this book. I am here to help you get in touch with your inner you, with that version of yourself that you may have buried or ignored for so many years. This process begins with self-awareness.
In the pages that follow, I will bring you closer to yourself (self-awareness), and then I will challenge you to go outside of yourself. You will be inspired to take chances, be spontaneous, and venture beyond your comfort zone. Once you have adapted to this new mindset, I will challenge you to set ambitious goals for yourself and to plot out exactly how you will achieve them. What you'll come to realize through this book is that every self-improvement journey is twofold. One part is to look inward, acknowledging what you can accomplish, and the other part is to look outward, allowing yourself to believe in a higher idea, purpose, or goal. You will find that you are stronger, more talented, and more versatile than you think you are. And I'll show you how.

Change is inevitable. Growth is intentional. –Glenda Cloud

How often have you heard the phrase, Life is short? As birthdays and life milestones seem to come and go at alarmingly quick rates, it’s easy to accept this view on life. We’re constantly working towards something, whether it’s a university degree, a promotion in our career, a successfully raised child, or something else. We become so caught up in the end result of all our hard work, that the process of getting there is neglected. Life does seem short when we find ourselves jumping from end result to end result, and the rushed journeys of reaching our goals become washed away.

As relatable as this phrase may seem, I’m here to tell you that life is not short. In fact, it’s the longest thing any of us will ever accomplish during our time here on Earth. Life is a long journey, filled with mountains that are meant to be climbed slowly, not sprinted up, lakes that are meant to be paddled in a canoe, not sped across in a yacht, and roses that are
