About this ebook

This unique look at health care interprets scriptures of the Bible and adapts and applies the wisdom found there to modern ways of life. These scriptures teach that the prevention of diseases is not in the hands of doctors, but rather in what individuals eat and how they live. Health-minded Americans will learn how to avoid the disease-causing preservatives, growth hormones, and pesticides of the meat and dairy industries that pollute the once-fresh foods that the public consumes. Also included is an in-depth discussion of Satan’s influence on the advertising industry and how it is linked to drug, cigarette, and alcohol addictions among the American people.

Satan, I'm Taking Back My Health! - Jawanza Kunjufu

    WHAT DOES GOD SAY?

Deuteronomy 30:19. I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose life that both you and your descendants may live.

God has given us free will. Satan is real. A subsequent chapter will talk about the role of Satan and the impact that he has had on our health. God has given us an option. We live in a world of blessings and curses. We live in a world where there is good and evil. We live in a world where there is healthy and harmful food. God wants us to choose life.

John 10:10. The thief does not come except to steal, kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have life more abundantly.

God wants us to live. God wants us to have life and to have life more abundantly. God does not want us to be sick. God wants our best. He gave us His only son to teach us how to live. God gave us his only begotten Son that we may have life and have life more abundantly. God is not pleased with his children dying of cancer, heart disease, strokes, and diabetes, nor suffering from obesity, arthritis, and rheumatism.

III John 2. Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health just as your soul prospers.

The Lord wants us to prosper in all areas, but notice he emphasizes health. This should be done to the same level that our soul prospers. The Bible asks us what good is it for man to gain the whole world and to lose his soul? The Word teaches, Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these other things shall be added unto it. The Lord wants first for us to have a relationship with Him. If you love me you will be my sheep and I will be your shepherd and you will hear my voice. Enoch walked with God. We need to walk with God by obeying His Word.

What has God promised us? Do we have an inheritance? Did our Father leave us a will?

Genesis 12:1–3. Now the Lord said to Abraham, get out of your country from your family and from your father’s house to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation. I will bless you and make your name great, and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and I will curse him who curses you and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

Romans 8:16–17. The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God and if children then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. If indeed we suffer with him that we may also be glorified together.

We have a covenant. The same covenant that God gave to Abraham is the same covenant that God gave to Abraham’s descendants. We are Abraham’s descendants. Many of us were unaware of that covenant. Many of us have not taken ownership of our inheritance. We are heirs to the throne. We are joint heirs with Jesus Christ to all that our Father has for us. The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. All that God has belongs to us. Every good and perfect gift belongs to us. Many of us are walking around as ill paupers, rather than healthy kings and queens. God wants the best for us, or He would not have appointed us heirs.

Can you imagine a wealthy parent developing a will and including people they don’t know, don’t like, and don’t have a relationship with? Parents who are millionaires are very deliberate about their wills. How unfortunate that many of us do not realize our inheritance. The government reports there are numerous inheritances where heirs have not made claims. They didn’t know the inheritance existed. The government has been unable to locate them and after a period of time, the inheritance belongs to the government. This is happening to many Christians.

Psalm 91:16. With long life I will satisfy him.

God wants us to have long life. God is not pleased when His babies die at birth nor is He pleased when His youth are victims of homicide. God is not pleased when His children die of diseases before they become parents or grandparents. The scripture reminds us, God wants us to have a long life. The following scriptures define how long that life could be.

Genesis 5:27. So all the days of Methuselah were 969 years and he died.

Genesis 6:3. And the Lord said my spirit shall not strive with man forever for he is indeed flesh yet his days shall be 120 years.

Psalm 90:10. The days of our lives are 70 years and if by reason of strength they are 80 years.

God reminds us that with long life I will satisfy him. Our purpose in life is to glorify Him, to bring glory to Him. He wants to give us long life. Methuselah was able to benefit from that promise and live 969 years. With Satan and sin rampant, our life was scaled down to 120 years and further reduced to 70 and 80 with strength. At the very least it should be 70 years, but it should be 70 good years. It should not be in the latter years that you can barely walk, and your body is filled with pain and drugs. God wants us to die of old age and disease free.

I Corinthians, 3:16–17 and 6:19–20. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you whom you have from God and you are not your own. For you were bought at a price therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God’s. Our body is His temple. We have been bought with a price. Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice for us. The least we could do is when people see us they see God. Look at yourself for a moment. When people look at your body, do they see God? When people look at you, do they see life, vitality, vigor, and energy? Or do they see someone tired, run down, overweight, sluggish, and out of shape? Our body is His temple. We are not our own. Can you imagine that, we are not our own? Our health and body do not belong to doctors. We belong to Him. He is the potter and we are the clay. The Holy Spirit needs a better place to reside. The Holy Spirit does not need to live in a shell filled with arthritis, rheumatism, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and cancer. The Holy Spirit deserves better.

Proverbs 23:2-3. Put a knife to your throat if you are a man given to appetite. Do not desire his delicacies for they are deceptive food. In the anecdotes, I mentioned that man does not die, he kills himself. We kill ourselves at the dinner table. We have a much greater chance of dying at the dinner table than from a gun, an automobile, or a nuclear weapon. Man kills himself with his knife and fork. Man kills himself with delicacies and deceptive foods that we will talk about in the chapter on Satan. You are what you eat. We have a responsibility to God because our body is His temple, to push away from the table.

I know it is hard. I love to eat and some of the delicacies and deceptive foods that I have fallen guilty to are french fries and potato chips. I could avoid making that statement and make it appear that I never eat anything wrong. I could deceive you, and tell you all I do is eat fruits and vegetables, drink eight glasses of water, breathe good air, exercise daily, and will live as long as Methuselah. Many people will hope, because of ego and sin, that I will experience an illness. This will allow them to rationalize that if I could not practice what I preach, how could they.

Our eyes should not be on the preacher, our eyes should be on Christ. If we are honest with each other, what we really are trying to do when we point a finger at someone, is make an opportunity to avoid doing what we know is correct. We all have weaknesses, but it does not make the weakness acceptable. My weaknesses should not be your opportunity and rationale to continue to do what you want. God does not want us to be gluttons. God does not want us to be overweight. Please don’t misquote me; that does not mean that God does not love us. God’s love for us is unconditional, but it does not negate what He says in His word. We are to avoid deceptive food and delicacies and we are to monitor our appetite and put the knife and fork down. Not only does God want us to put the knife and fork down, but the Bible is filled with scriptures that talk about the value of fasting. Our Lord and Savior Jesus fasted on numerous occasions and often for forty days. David fasted, Daniel fasted, Samuel and Ezra fasted. Numerous people in the Bible fasted. It is not only good for the body, but allows us to become closer to God.

Food becomes a major part of the day. It often takes us away from God. Many of us eat so much that we are not convinced that we can skip one meal and not be completely overwhelmed by hunger pains. Fasting allows the body to rest and heal. Digestion is very demanding on the body. The following chapter on the body will illuminate the demands of digestion. That can explain why many of us after we eat fall asleep. The body is overwhelmed by the work involved. Ironically, for those people who have not fasted, they don’t realize that fasting will actually give them energy. The energy that was being used to digest food is now being used to achieve other objectives. The term breakfast–break the fast–should be considered. You don’t break a fast with bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, and biscuits.

Proverbs 20:1. Wine is a mocker, strong drink is a brawler and whoever is led astray by it is not wise.

Proverbs 21:17. He who loves wine and oil will not be rich.

Proverbs 23:31–32. Do not look on the wine when it is red when it sparkles in the cup when it swirls around smoothly, at the last it bites like a serpent and stings like a vapor. Your eyes will see strange things and your heart will utter perverse things.

First Corinthians, 6:9–10. Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Do not be deceived, not the fornicators, nor idolaters, not adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revelers, nor extortioners will inherit the Kingdom of God.

God is very clear about alcohol and wine. Many people make a mockery and simply have communion every day of the week during the entire day. Satan will use research from France that a glass of wine is good for cholesterol. God is clear about drunkards, wine, and strong spirits. We are to abstain. Not only is it not good for you and your holy temple, but if you become a drunkard, you will be denied entrance into the Kingdom of God. Now let’s be honest, can wine do you like Jesus? Liquor like the Lord? How unfortunate that Satan has so many people making the wrong choice.

Remember God wants you to choose life. He has placed before you blessings and curses, but he wants you to choose life. He wants you to have life and have life more abundantly. If you love me keep my commandments says the Lord. God is not the author of confusion. Satan is the author of confusion. God gave you the spirit of discernment.
