About this audiobook

Captain William Hawksmoor of the Royal Navy never expected to inherit Kingscastle and is none too pleased when he does so. Especially when he learns that he must marry within a year or be forever dealing with trustees.

As the new Marquis of Athelney, the captain takes command of Kingscastle and discovers much to be done to set it in order. He must also contend with his aunt, Lady Willoughby Hawksmoor, who is determined that her daughter will be his wife. When she discovers he is far more interested in Eleanor Burgess, her underpaid and much put-upon companion, Lady Willoughby shows she will stop at nothing to keep them apart.

This book was awesomeness, so very good. I loved the Marquis and the goings on with him and his castle. The narrator's performance was excellent. When a great narrator has a novel that is written with such perfection, they tend to really make you feel the story. Thank You for sharing your story with us and for choosing the one of best storyteller's to read it to us.

I skipped multiple chapters and it didn’t impact the story line.

I chose this audiobook because I love Georgette heyer, but it didn’t deliver. I didn’t laugh, the heroine wasn’t likeable, and the main characters spent a lot of time thinking about their feelings and indecision. It was difficult to finish. The narrator was excellent though, and some of the secondary characters were quite enjoyable.
