About this audiobook

The Path is the story of a group of international travellers who walk the Camino de Santiago, the ancient eight hundred kilometre pilgrimage from the Pyrenees to the remains of the apostle Saint James in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostella in Northern Spain. The group are of all ages, all professions, all religious denominations (and none). They include a British ex-army captain, a beautiful Danish businesswoman, a manic Austrian architect, a Welsh painter, a driven American priest and a comic mother and daughter duo from Canada. The thirty-five day walk is tough and demanding, They relate intellectually, spiritually and sexually, as they search for their own deep and personal truths which are not always what they expect – or want – to find.Along the way, a terrible and shocking death changes their view of themselves forever as they arrive in the holy city.Malcolm McKay has been the writer and director of several successful television films, including the award winning "A Wanted Man" trilogy, "Redemption", as well as adaptations of Emile Zola’s "La Bête Humaine" and Mervyn Peake’s "Gormenghast". He has had three novels published: "The Lack Brothers", "Breaking Up" and "Thistown for Children".

Malcolm McKay

Malcolm McKay has published three novels, THE LACK BROTHERS, BREAKING UP and THISTOWN (for children), as well as being a writer and director for television. His writing has always dealt with extreme behaviour and includes the controversial BBC play AIRBASE which dealt metaphorically with drug abuse on a USAF base in England (the plays was mentioned in Parliament after Prime Minister Thatcher demanded a copy). His work also includes the multiaward winning A WANTED MAN trilogy one of the first television dramas to deal in depth with the arrest, trial and pychology of a serial killer. His stage play, THE PEOPLE’S TEMPLE describes the slow descent of the Californian cult into paranoia and mass suicide. In his film MARIA’S CHILD, he graphically describes a female dancer’s decision to abort her child and the subsequent doubts and difficulties of the process. Malcolm Mckay has been a writer for forty years. THE PATH is his first novel to be published as an ebook.
