About this audiobook

He's handsome. He's charming. He's a total gentleman ... and he's totally outgunned and outnumbered. He's Michael Patrick Obañon.

Obañon's lost his inheritance—a 100,000-acre New Mexico spread—and he could lose his life if he's not careful. A ruthless band of renegades have seized his land, and he's determined to get it back. Obañon's got one secret weapon: his fierce intelligence. He can't out-shoot the outlaws, so he'll have to find a way to outwit them....

Part Irish, part Mexican, Michael Patrick Obañon is as American as they come—crafty, confident, and cool under fire. It may be one man against the world, but before he's done the world will know how the West will be won.

L. Ron Hubbard

With 19 New York Times bestsellers and more than 350 million copies of his works in circulation, L. Ron Hubbard is among the most enduring and widely read authors of our time. As a leading light of American Pulp Fiction through the 1930s and '40s, he is further among the most influential authors of the modern age. Indeed, from Ray Bradbury to Stephen King, there is scarcely a master of imaginative tales who has not paid tribute to L. Ron Hubbard. Then too, of course, there is all L. Ron Hubbard represents as the Founder of Dianetics and Scientology and thus the only major religion born in the 20th century.

    Six Gun Caballero

Read the book and after dusting off my spurs on my boots and patting my horse, gotta tell ya it was quite the Western yarn.

I was never much into Westerns, since the formula was always the same, with the bad Indians and the great white sheriff who makes peace in a town of outlaws, aka Gunsmoke and so on.

This tale was a new take: a man, one Michael Obanon, runs a huge ranchero with cattle and such. People look on him as a dandy, others as a lifesaver. His friend, a judge from Washington DC, wants to protect him. Seems the border moved and now Michael’s property is part of the USA.

Is the original Spanish land grant worthless? Will there be claim jumpers? Yikes!

Michael fakes his identity and makes secret plans to thwart Charles and the other gangsters. Charles’ use of poker slang gives the story some reality. But Charles’ choice racist words make the reader not feel too sorry for him.

Bottom Line: A short yet interesting Western tale in the New Mexico desert. Recommended!
