Ok, I was enjoying this book until one chapter the protagonist lied about what happeded to her. I'm going to complete this book and finish my review.

Woah! I couldn't stop listening. Finished in less than 24 hours. Stayed up way too late listening and couldn't wait to start it as soon as I woke.

This book is so engaging... Hannah has been held captive for 5 years in a basement, able to escape when an EMP takes the grid down. Her captor is hot on her trail in the rugged Michigan winter when she runs into Liam, ex-military.

Full of action and breathing holding moments.

The prequel is bonus at the end, it should come first. It’s Liam’s backstory.

There’s a lot going on.

Hannah kidnapped, hostage, tortured & pregnant. Power destruction enabled her escape. But she’s in the wilderness with no idea what is happening now or what has happened in the last 5 years.

Pike- obsessed psychopath with grudges, when the power goes out his only objective is to make sure his captive is still imprisoned

Liam leaves his newborn nephew to return to his solitary existence, but coming upon Hannah obviously terrified and about to freeze to death he feels compelled to provide her shelter

Liam soon realizes Hannah’s being hunted, when evidence of tormentor is found, Liam decides to bring Hannah back to her family
