Having read Imperial Alchemist and The Golden Khan previously (and loved them) I was curious to hear what the story would be sound like.
The first surprise was the male narrator, Luke, which seemed an odd choice for a female protagonist but what an inspired choice it was. Luke was so engaging and able to switch between characters and moods at the drop of a hat without leaving you stranded. The pacing and emotion was all there and brought to life this wonderful book. Well done!
