About this audiobook
A double-award-winning Regency romance featuring an irrepressible duke, a bookish spinster, a devious murderer … and a dash of magic!
Oliver Dasenby is the most infuriating man Primrose Garland has ever known. He may be her brother’s best friend, but he has an atrocious sense of humor. Eight years in the cavalry hasn’t taught him solemnity, nor has the unexpected inheritance of a dukedom.
But when Oliver inherited his dukedom, it appears that he also inherited a murderer.
Oliver might be dreadfully annoying, but Primrose doesn’t want him dead. She’s going to make certain he survives his inheritance—and the only way to do that is to help him catch the murderer!

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I enjoyed most books in the Baleful Godmother series much better. Here red herrings were too obvious to everybody but the main characters, and I got so annoyed with endless "significant and urgent" talks between H and h that led not to sharing of new information mostly, but to repeated admonitions to be careful. Skipped to the end of the book to double check my guess about the main villain - no surprise there. The love story alone didn't carry it in this one.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5What a good story and very well written. Such a shame to be hours into it to hear our Father’s name taken in vain. I listen to books to escape cancer and world problems for a while. I had to stop listening because your language stabbed my heart. Shame on you.
