About this audiobook

LIGHTS, CAMERA, MURDER…

London, 1923

As England swelters during the hottest summer on record, Posie Parker, Private Detective, is summoned to Worton Hall Film Studios, where she steps into the heart of a sinister new mystery.

Silvia Hanro, the famously beautiful movie star, has received death threats alongside her morning coffee, and Posie is tasked with protecting her. Aided by her good friends Lady Dolly Cardigeon and Chief Inspector Richard Lovelace, Posie soon realises that behind the cheap canvas sets and the dreamy glamour of the Studios a dreadful secret lays buried, and traitors lurk everywhere.

And then, good as their word, the killer strikes…

Can Posie uncover the murderer before they kill again?

Can she protect herself and her friends in a world where quite literally nothing is as it seems? And can she rescue her own engagement to the gorgeous Alaric Boynton-Dale from the brink of disaster by using a few of the tricks she has learnt on set?

This is a classic Golden Age of Crime murder mystery.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is filled with suspense, romance and drama. I can't wait to listen to the next Posie Parker book.

ok-ish - the poorest of the stories in this series so far - unfortunately not so sharp and logic either.

Clever plot and really good characters. Also, sets the whole post great war Very truly there as it affects all who live at the time. Very enjoyable!

I’ve really been enjoying this series but this one was my least favorite. The narrator again does a splendid job, but the story just isn’t as compelling as the previous ones.

Near the end Posie says that there has been way too much going on. Which is exactly the problem with this book. It’s TWICE as long as the previous four books. A decent plot but as sure as bread is bread, too much filler.

I’m looking forward to the next one especially since it’s back to a normal length.
