About this audiobook
'Beard With Me’ is the origin story of Billy Winston and Scarlet St. Claire (aka Claire McClure) and is just the beginning of their epic love story.
No one is better at surviving than Scarlet St. Claire and making the best out of circumstances beyond her control is Scarlet’s specialty. In an apocalyptic situation, she’d be the last person on earth, hermitting like a pro, singing along to her CD Walkman, and dancing like no one is watching.
Scarlet is clever, Scarlet is careful, and Scarlet is smart . . . except when it comes to Billy Winston.
No one is better at fighting than Billy Winston and raging against his circumstances—because nothing is beyond his control—is Billy’s specialty. In an apocalyptic situation, he’d be the first person on earth to lead others to safety, overcome catastrophe, or die trying.
Billy is fearless, Billy is disciplined, and Billy is honorable . . . except when it comes to Scarlet St. Claire.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5No HEA here. All the feels backstory of Scarlett (Claire) and Billy. I Love the mysterious Billy even more after this book.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The book is great, like all of Mrs Reid’s, but I feel sucker punched by it. I wish I had been warned that the theme was so heavy. I loved all the serious underlying themes so far, but this one hit too close to home and sort of disturbed me. It’s not a light “reading”.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5They just get better and better. Penny Reid writes the best characters and interesting storylines. thank you!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The whole series is wonderful. The reader becomes another thread in the Winston family tapestry...laughing when they laugh, hurting when they hurt, loving when they love, and pondering life through their thoughts and perceptions. The poetry and quotes Interspersed throughout the story telling used as both foreshadow and reflection add to the beauty and power of the books. Did I say the series was wonderful? I certainly should have.
Thanks, Penny Reid, thanks - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I liked the book, but really disliked the female narrator's voice.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5My favorite of the Beard series! Maybe it’s because I’ve read all the others (and maybe it wouldn’t be as good if you haven’t) but this one was heart warming and heart wrenching.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I need the rest! I didn't think I was going to enjoy it as much as Cletus story, but damn! I want to hear the rest. Where do they go from here? Can Billy and Scarlet find their HEA?
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Gah! My HEART. I think this was necessary reading for the next book, which I’m going to start RIGHT NOW. What a beautiful and bittersweet story. I loved seeing what everyone was like when they were young and how events shaped who they become. Loved it!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow this was hard to read but important for the back story of scarlet and Billy. Excited to get to there back to there story now

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such an important part of understanding Claire and Billy’s history…but know that some parts of Claire’s childhood are tough to hear.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I have read the entire series and really enjoyed all of them. But this one would drag on. It didn't capture the fun and excitement of the others. I couldn't even finish it!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I've waited to hear the back story of Scarlett and Billy for so long. I wasn't disappointed. Their story is so sad and I really hope it gets redemption in Beard Necessities
