About this audiobook

WHEN A KILLER HAS NOTHING TO LOSE
The crime scene is as puzzling as it is brutal. Doctor Paul Latham and his wife, Brindel, are found dead in separate beds in their beautiful San Francisco home, each the victim of a gunshot wound to the head. There are no signs of forced entry, and despite the emptied safe it’s clear this murder isn’t random.

THERE’S EVERY REASON
For Detective Regan Pescoli, news of her sister’s death brings grief mixed with guilt. She and Brindel weren’t close, and Pescoli barely knows her teenage niece, Ivy, a secretive girl who lands on her doorstep in Grizzly Falls, Montana. Though Pescoli is on maternity leave, she’s soon mired deep in the investigation headed by her partner, Selena Alvarez. But as the list of suspects keeps growing, so does the body count . . .

TO BE AFRAID . . .
Maybe it’s exhaustion or hormones that have Pescoli on edge, feeling more vulnerable than ever before. Or maybe the chill running through her veins is justified. Because as the case takes a new, terrifying turn, Pescoli’s loved ones and her life are at the mercy of a killer who’ll go to any lengths to see her suffer . . .

I just love Lisa Jackson and I thoroughly enjoy the pescoli/alverez series. This started off boring but then got my interest. How sad such a spoiled your girl could cause so much heartache and in all reality responsible for so many deaths. I was really happy so harm came to pescoli's baby and that even though she was shot did survive and decide to go back to work.

Really enjoyed this new installment in the Montana Series and am very grateful to have received the advanced reader copy. I love Lisa's writing style, the fast paced action keeps me turning the pages even after I should have turned the lights out and went to bed. Always look forward to a new Lisa Jackson thriller!!!

The brutal murders of Brindel and Paul Latham brings Regan Pescoli to San Francisco . . . Brindel was her sister and, although they weren’t close, she was family. And her teen-aged daughter, Ivy, is missing.

Ivy turns up on Regan’s doorstep in Grizzly Falls and the investigation continues. But the list of suspects is growing, too . . . and the bodies are piling up. Soon Regan finds herself and her family at the mercy of a killer determined to make her suffer.

Eighth in the To Die series, all of the expected characters are in place and, although the book is part of a series, it works well as a stand-alone. A strong sense of place anchors the story; several unexpected plot twists keep the suspense building and the tension mounting. Readers will find it difficult to set this one aside before tuning the final page; the compelling story, with its unforeseen denouement, is sure to keep readers on the edge of their seats.

    Highly recommended.
