I find the stories to be very rushed with no real build up

These are the sweetest short love-stories. Awesome mood improvers. Thanks.

The brothers love and caring for each other and acceptance of each other’s choices. The females are different but work their way into the family. Not the steamiest but not too innocent either

I gave this book 3 stars because I didn’t finish the first chapter because of the profanity in fact i only listened to the start of the chapter. It sounded like a book that would’ve been good to listen too but not with the F-word being used. What a shame.

The way King is overprotective of this soon to be wife, and the way Chase talked to his soon to be wife, these types of men would have been a turn off at 1st meeting. How can strong women fall for such aggressive men?

TRIGGER WARNING: the first book in this series deals with partner violence.

I only listened to the first audiobook. I really wanted to enjoy it. But I couldn't. King or Caine (the twangy audio scent made it hard to tell), the lead make character, gave me a really uneasy vibe. He seemed overbearing and possessive to me. I see that the author was trying to frame that possessiveness as protectiveness, but it felt a lot more like steam rolling to me. With kindness, I hope the author has never gone through the kind of trauma her female protagonist has.

Positive note: the interactions with the child in the book are tender, and not quite as creepy as the adult relationship. It's more believable that a child could latch on to someone new faster than an adult.

SPOILER ALERT: there are several scenes in the book where King (?) makes a big gesture, then almost immediately asks for something from the female lead, right when she's indebted to him. Especially the proposal. It made me feel super icky. How could she say no at that point? While she is portrayed as willing, she's known the man for maybe 3 weeks. It feels unlikely she would be truely past reservations (justly caused by the past three author has weaved for her). She likes him, clearly, but rather than just let a relationship build, he insists he wants to put a baby in her (which turned my stomach) and won't do it until they're married so he rushes that through so he didn't have to keep it in his pants? That almost made me stop listening right there (I only listened on because I hoped it would get better and the other books would make up for it). Seriously, I would tell a friend to run from that situation. Esp a friend who previously experienced partner violence. In the end, I had to stop after that first book for fear that the others would give me just as much of an icky feeling.
