Loved the story, hated the FMC with a passion. I have never simultaneously loved and loathed a book quite like I did with this one.

I thought I’d like this book, then I listened to it and I did like it. Then I followed the story and then I hated it, I hated Chloe, but then the author’s notes at the end really opened my closed-mind. And now I can say, I loved it. The emotions were a lot to handle, I cried a little after thinking about it. But one thing I find shelter in is how lucky a person is to find real love twice in their lifetime. I’m envious, I’m happy and heartbroken for her.

    I definitely recommend this book.

This just wasn't a book for me.

Chloe's determination and hard work lands her a spot on the prestigious marketing programme in London. She spends a wonderful semester there, learning, exploring and falling in love with Oliver. When it's time to say goodbye, they both part brokenhearted.

Back in Boston, Chloe meets Lance and she falls in love for the second time. Happily married, she gets a new job with her favourite perk: travelling. Chloe and her team go to Amsterdam where she meets Oliver yet again.

This is a love triangle where the mystery of who the FMC will choose is the driving force. The story spans for around a decade and here's my first problem: the main events are glossed over which to me made them feel insignificant. The second issue is with the single POV, we only get one chapter of the MMC's perspective. This puts Chloe into the centre of attention and doesn't give away who she'll end up with, but it just makes the intentions and feelings of the FMCs an unknown. It takes away the emotional punch of their struggle, which in my opinion would've made the story more enticing. Chloe's struggle is described in a way to keep you guessing at every page turn which doesn't allow the reader to see much reasoning behind her actions.

The ending was kind of satisfying, however it left one major plot point unanswered.
