About this audiobook

Soon to be a major TV series starring Ella Purnell

The last person who called me ‘Sweetpea’ ended up dead…

Rhiannon is your average girl next door, settled with her boyfriend and little dog…but she’s got a killer secret.

By day her job as an editorial assistant is demeaning and unsatisfying. By evening she dutifully listens to her friend’s plans for marriage and babies whilst secretly making a list.

A kill list.

From the man on the checkout who always mishandles her apples, to the driver who cuts her off on her way to work, to the people who have got it coming, Rhiannon’s ready to get her revenge.

Because the girl everyone overlooks might be able to get away with murder…

Excellently read, funny, disturbingly identifiable characters, satisfying ending leaves me wanting more, fresh....and dear god, DARK. DARK. If you like cozy mysteries where pets help solve crime or thrillers where righteous but troubled women save the day....this is NOT that. This is hard, hilarious, ugly fun.

never been once in my life i listened to a story so bad that its good, and so good its a sin, all in one book. in every chapter i was like, what the ****, and it keeps on coming till the last second of the book.
if chocolate is a delicious sin, then this book is one hell of a chocolate.

Wow! Just finished Sweetpea and LOVED it. Other reviews say it's a mix of American Psycho and Bridget Jones, I'd throw in a pinch of Dexter as well. It was hilariously dark. I listened to it in just 2 days that's pretty quick for me- I take longer w audiobooks- It's got harsh language and violence, so if you don't like that, then definitely don't listen/read this. I loved the complaints the main character had, the humor is on point, very black. So if you like dark sarcasm and don't mind some violence this is one to check out!

Couldn't get passed chapter 8. I had to keep rewinding because it couldn't keep my interest and my brain would wander off. There were some humorous parts but not enough to keep me listening.

It's Bridget Jones meets Dexter and I loved it. I listened to it on audio book and it was just fantastic. I can't wait to read the 2nd one. It does just kinda end in the middle of what is happening though so there is no satisfaction in finishing just anticipation to get your hands on the next one.

This was a crazy read - and I will be listening to it again! The narrator was perfection for the role. It is VERY sexually graphic and there is quite a bit of violence. If you are offended by these - move on - but there are also some hysterical, laugh out loud moments that make you just shake your head. I couldn't stop listening till it was over.

One of my favorite books ever! I really enjoyed the premise of this book - I mean how often do we think along the same lines as SweaPea - only we don’t act on it. Would listen to it again.

This book was a little different than what I was used to but I couldn't stop listening. If you are offended by vulgar language than this book is not for you. The overall all plot was interesting but the ending left you hanging.

It is graphic and surprising, very well written. I love true crime and gore so it was perfect. I really enjoyed this twisted Bridget Jones vibe.

a hilarious and grotesque book - I have laughed so hard and deeply enjoyed Rhiannon, she is hands down one of my favorite characters of all time. Be warned -- this book is not for the tenderhearted or squeamish. but it was a really fun read for me.

That was a roller coaster of a read! One of the most original books I've listened to ever. The narrator was absolutely perfect too. Want to listen to "In Bloom" now which is the next one in the series.

Such an interesting concept for a book, and the diary style writing really pulls you into the psyche of this female serial killer and makes you question how many “normal looking” people are capable of such serious stuff.

2 reasons for not giving this book 5 stars - some pretty graphic language (though I will admit it is probably realistic to the story, it was hard to listen to at points) and the ending.. while again, realistic for the diary style writing, it is such an abrupt and unsatisfying ending. I couldn’t believe it was actually over.

Anyone who is a bit of a prude or shrinking violet should keep well away from this book, but for everyone else be prepared for a fantastic read and I certainly couldn't put it down! Here we have Rhiannon, a mouse by day and a terror at night who only wants to be happy. What a great story, filled with people we have all come across and who hasn't felt the same as Rhiannon in the supermarket and elsewhere with so many inconsiderate people around. Lots of laugh aloud, close your eyes and ouch moments - so irreverent and un PC, a real breath of fresh air. To call this gripping would be an absolute understatement, so if you can cope with swearing, violence and lots of comedy, then read this and you won't be disappointed - I wasn't and it is definitely my favourite book of the year so far!
