About this audiobook

It Kills. . .

On a hot summer night in Montauk, the bodies of two local bar patrons are discovered in the dunes, torn to shreds, their identities unrecognizable. . .

It Breeds. . .

In another part of town, a woman's backyard is invaded by four terrifying creatures that defy any kind of description. What's clear is that they're hostile--and they're ravenous. . .

It Spreads. . .

With every sunset the terror rises again, infecting residents with a virus no one can cure. The CDC can't help them; FEMA can't save them. But each savage attack brings Suffolk County Police Officer Gray Dalton one step closer to the shocking source of these unholy creations. Hidden on nearby Plum Island, a U.S. research facility has been running top-secret experiments. What they created was never meant to see the light of day. Now, a vacation paradise is going straight to hell.

Unfortunately, I chose to listen to this audiobook dramatized. That really sucked, it was my first time listening to an audiobook this way. I thought it may not have been too bad if the music was removed but the readings from the "actors" were also terrible. Over dramatized is what it really should be called. It was so awful, the cheesy music, the over acted readings, then lets throw in the special effect sounds...I wanted to vomit. I kept going though because the story was really good. I like Shea and that is why I picked this book and never having listen to a dramatized version before... I was hopeful this would be exciting new genre for me. Instead it gave me a headache. Noise on top of music on top of voices...it had too much confusion to enhance the story, instead it really hurt it for me. At one point the narrator's voice was so drowned out by the music, background noise, and actors voises....Ok I'll stop complaining. 4 stars for the horror story, negative 10 for the cheaply done dramatization.

This is a true horror story. People are being murdered and then dissolving from the inside out. After seeing their friends and co workers killed two police officers take it upon themselves to investigate what is killing these people. They end up on Plum Island a place where certain research is going on.This was a well written storyline with well-developed characters. I would recommend this to people who love horror and liked to be scared and can't put the book down.***I received this book from the publisher in return for an honest review****

Nothing says summer like reading a schlocky horror book by the pool or ocean, and the Montauk Monster is a classic. Genetically manipulated animals, government involvement, endless mayhem, death and destruction. This is a classic summertime book.

I received a copy of this novel for an honest review via NetGalley.

I DNF'd this book. I've had this on my currently reading list for a month plus. I dropped it at few pages into the second chapter. The formatting and GSP (grammar, spelling, and punctuation) were fine but the novel did not hold my interest.

At a chapter plus into the novel, something had better have piqued my interest. I have tried many times over the past month to try, but a couple sentences in and I am finding tons of other things to do, so I quit.

I give it three stars for the formatting and GSP. I can't recommend it though and would highly suggest a potential buyer grab the free sample before purchasing.
