About this audiobook

Outlaws had smashed his life, left his wife dying and carried off his son. Now all Frank Morgan wants is to hang up his guns and settle down in peace. But all that changes when he rides into the middle of a Montana range war, where a valley has been ripped apart by hatred and fears...and where his legend proves to be as dangerous as his gun.

The blood of innocent men, women and children has been shed. On one side is a small army of ranchers; on the other a stubborn band of farming families. With each side suspecting that the other brought in Frank Morgan, the gunman's reputation fans the flames of war. But a strange thing happens to a man who has been living a wanderer's life. In a battle that's not his, Frank must choose a side, make a stand and be willing to die for a place some people will call home...

Title: Forbidden (The Last Gunfighter #4)Author: William W JohnstonePages: 283Year: 2001Publisher: PinnacleMy rating: 5 out of 5 stars. All Frank Morgan wants is to find a place to be left alone. Frank knows other men will come along and want to gain a reputation by killing him, but all he wants is peace. Frank comes along a town sign that directs him to take one of two roads, one road leads to Hell the other Heaven. Frank has no knowledge of how these towns got their names but the war between the two he has seen before and wants no part of it.Frank has lived with losing his wife and having a son who wants nothing to do with him. He just wants a bath, shave and supplies and then he is drifting on. However, the minute he steps into a bar and is recognized the gig is up. He is once again called to draw or crawl out of the saloon in humiliation. From that point on, Frank is enmeshed in a battle between ranchers and farmers. When the biggest three ranches begin killing innocent people, some men leave for the tall and uncut. But Frank must finish the fight, because too much is on the line, and if he doesn’t stop those bent on taking what isn’t theirs more people will die.I like Frank Morgan. He is man with a reputation he never sought and tries to use his skills to preserve life. Not everybody agrees or likes Frank’s way but they’re his and he lives with the repercussions. When Frank rides out of town, some people will find themselves in a better position to live their lives.
