About this audiobook

He was the light to his darkness, the calm that broke through the storm.

Mike Stockley has taken care of himself since he was thirteen years old. Growing up on his own made him smart; joining the Devil Wreckers gang made him dangerous. Mike's street knowledge and f**k-all attitude made him notorious.

Now at forty-eight, Mike has a successful landscaping business and is away from the gang lifestyle, but he kept the skills he learned and the mindset. But what it didn't make him was relationship material.

Rayne Montgomery grew up on the right side of the tracks. But after being shunned by his high-class family for being gay, Rayne had to learn how to survive on his own. He has the looks, charm, the suave voice, and the body to get whatever he desires, and Rayne knows exactly what kind of man to con in order to get it.

All destructive conditions come with challenges, and Rayne's are no different. With the help and support of his friend Wood, he knows he can beat this disease. He can stop making the same mistakes and live happily ever after as a recovered sex addict.

Rayne just has to find a man strong enough to truly love him.

Mike is rough around the edges and fiercely protective. He’s been doing his best to hold his little family together since he was 15, sometimes it doesn’t feel like it’s getting any easier. Rayne was put out on his own and made some regrettable choices. He’s trying a better path, but it’s a struggle. He reluctantly accepts help, but stubbornly resists charity. Mike puts all his efforts into stealthily finding opportunities for Rayne. Trent, Wood, Bishop, Edison, and Manny are all front and center as their journeys grow and weave. This is found family at its truest -perseverance, loyalty, support and gruff, raw protectiveness, snarky, and most of all bone deep. Yeah, I loved this series, these guys are flawed, they’ve seen the dark side and didn’t surrender to it, they scratched and clawed their way to better place; went after and concurred lives than they could only dream of and found their peace.
