About this audiobook

Unemployed university professor Tyler Marsh is pounding the pavement looking for a job. After a year of rejections based on her over-qualification, she's dumbed down her resume in a desperate attempt to get her foot in the door somewhere-anywhere! Then, Buffalo's leading marine engineering firm offers her a low-level placement as a personal assistant.

Chief Innovation Officer and wounded veteran Georgie DiNamico doesn't want an assistant or anyone else bothering her. She has her work, her dog, and her nightmares to keep her company. Heir-apparent to her family's engineering firm, a head injury suffered in Afghanistan has left her feeling too broken for anything else.

Georgie has no use for the helper that her family insists she hire. But when Tyler's resume lands on her desk, along with a company background check listing the advanced degrees she omitted, Georgie sees an opportunity to add a researcher to her RD team.

Tyler quickly realizes that her new boss is not the damaged goods everyone sees. She recognizes something special in Georgie DiNamico, garnering trust, loyalty, and something more . . . something Tyler hasn't thought about for a very, very long time.

I DNFed on chapter 12 . I didn’t exactly appreciate the way Gorgie’s disability was presented. I felt like it wasn’t explained enough. At first i just thought it was Broca’s Aphasia, but then later discovered it was much more. The most the explained was that it affected her amygdala but it never explained whatever condition she had in detail. Maybe I just found this annoying as someone who studies biology, but it just felt lacking in this department. I especially didn’t appreciate this one factor because of the detail in practically everything else. Additionally, if your not into the insides of computer science and business, this book might be a little dull to you. The romance was somewhat prevalent but just felt like a side plot. Overall, it was an ok read but not interesting enough for me to continue.
