Definitely held my attention, definitely well constructed and good character development. Plot well maintained throughout the entire book and narrator did a nice job. Could have stood a little bit more roughness, some blood-and-guts to perk it up a little bit... but all in all pretty good. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Great story! However, I would have preferred a different female narrator. Sorta threw me off to listen to a matured voice(maybe 60?) narrating a character that’s in their 30s. Narrator did a good job but that’s what I would have preferred. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Jennifer Hillier hasn’t disappointed me yet! There’s enough detail to keep me interested, without making the book too wordy, and the excitement keep going.
I really liked this book and probably would’ve given it 5 stars, but the ending was just a bit cut off for me. When I only had a handful of pages until the end and it wasn’t wrapped up I was a little nervous.
Sheila is a professor that has dealt with her own demons most of her life. When she finally meets Morris, they are perfect together and can build the perfect life, but first she has to break it off with her lover... and he does not like her new found happiness. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

EGADS!!! Disclaimer; I only made it to chapter 4. Ok. I tried but so far this book is extremely unbelievable. Obviously in fiction we are asked to suspend reality to a certain extent but not this much. These characters are supposed to be well educated, smart people and yet we are expected to believe that they do things like divulge secrets like alcoholism and an estranged father/son relationship to a complete stranger without confirmation of motives. No one is this stupid. Also, these characters are all very unlikeable. They are extremely dishonest, morally bankrupt and well just gross. The amount of sex and profanity really adds nothing to the story. I understand that the author wants the characters to be flawed but come on. These people are train wrecks! What’s worse, they seemed completely surprised when their despicable acts have consequences. Seriously, the main character, Dr. Sheila Tao actually believes that she is the victim when her teaching assistant whom she was sleeping with tries to blackmail her with a video of them having anal sex. Why would she allow that to be recorded considering she’s about to get married and she could lose her job. A job that she expects us to believe is the most important thing in her life. I understand she made a mistake but she kept making it, and apparently felt that it needed to be recorded for posterity. If that were not enough, Shelia’s fiancé tells her stalker that he and Sheila have never had sex after being a couple for over a year. This is after said stalker puts on a disguise and goes to meet Sheila’s fiancé for a fake job interview. What kind of person confides information like that to someone they just met and is interviewing them for a job? If you like to read about smart people who are too stupid to live, go for it. I’ve rarely found a book that I was unwilling to listen to in its entirety but this one makes the cut. - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5

I loved how twisted each character was in their own way, they each had their own issues that contributed to the storyline. But I was a little let down, I have enjoyed some of this authors other books so much that my expectations were high. I was a bored & could see the ending coming. The last twist wasn’t very exciting especially because of the lack of development from this character in general. I - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Not my cup of tea. I felt it drug on a lot. Lots of extra detail that wasn’t needed, like explaining the contents of breakfast. Almost like it was page fillers a lot of the time. There were no real twists. Even the “twist” at the end didn’t really align with much of the story. There was no real mystery. Just felt like a long story with random stuff thrown in. Maybe I just prefer more stories that have a true mystery that offers cookie crumbs along the way. This wasn’t it. - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5

This is the complicated story of psychology professor Sheila Tao, who has two secrets - she is a sex addict and is having an affair with a student, Ethan Frye, who is 16 years her junior with a girlfriend. When Sheila announces her engagement to a wealthy investment banker, Morris, Ethan is enraged. What follows requires a suspension of disbelief as their story evolves. The ending leaves the possibility of a sequel. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Creep is the perfect title for this psychological thriller. It opens with Dr. Sheila Tao telling her TA that their affair is over. She is getting married to a wonderful man, Morris. Ethan is livid, and although he has a girlfriend, Abby, that he adores, he craves Sheila, and the things they do together.
Ethan cannot let go of his obsession for Sheila, and takes steps to control her and expose her addiction to ruin her reputation.
This all leads to a chilling ending.
Quite impressive debut novel.
