About this audiobook
""Joanna Shupe is the queen of historical bad boys!"" — Julia Quinn
By beloved USA Today bestselling author Joanna Shupe, the third installment in the Fifth Avenue Rebels series about an arranged engagement destined for disaster.
A hard-hearted tycoon.
A romantic dreamer.
An engagement set up to fail.
The charismatic and vivacious Katherine Delafield should be married by now. Her father arranged an engagement to the much sought-after tycoon Preston Clarke ages ago. The only problem is Preston refuses to acknowledge it. But this isn’t going to stop Katherine from living life to the fullest as she ditches all silly notions of love and marriage and sets out to sample all the excitement New York City has to offer . . . the more scandalous the better. Because no matter what happens, she and Preston will never marry.
After his family nearly lost everything, Preston is done letting his late father ruin his life—including choosing his bride. But when a mysterious lover at a masquerade turns out to be his would-be fiancée, Preston's resolve begins to crumble. He hadn't expected Katherine to be so charming. Or beautiful. Or passionate. And seeing her out on the town with other men is driving him crazy.
What happens when the wrong bride turns out to be the right woman after all?

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Not as bad as the first, but nowhere near as good as the 2nd!
Kit still has my heart on a chokehold, even though the author did make him somewhat hypocritical in this one.
& thank goodness, the author did NOT jilt the poor Duke once again... poor man!
The reasonings for why Preston didn't think he could marry, felt extremely flimsy to me & it just felt like it was dragged out unnecessarily!
It would've been better if they'd had to marry & the rest of the story would've been them figuring each other out & learning to love each other... just my 2 pence! - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This feels like Katherine and Maddy 2.0…
Loved it for 3/4 and the 1/4 Katherine just won’t forgive him and nothing won’t do. She knew the property was a war zone was told not to commit and yet when he works to reclaim the deed boom that’s the horse that broke Katherine… - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Years ago, Katherine's and Preston's fathers arranged for a marriage between their children. Now that Katherine has made her debut, she believes the wedding will proceed quickly. But Preston has no intention to wed, and is shocked that Katherine expects him to honor the old agreement in which they had no part. Shocked by his heartlessness, she wants nothing more to do with him.
Freed from the contract, she sets out to enjoy her singlehood. She goes to a masquerade ball, where she engages in a tryst with a masked man. She's distressed to discover later that the man is Preston. He assumes she's trying to force him into marriage. Despite the animosity between them, the physical attraction remains strong. Will love grow between them?
This book is set in Gilded Age New York. I enjoyed the story and the audiobook narration. Katherine and Preston are well matched. If you like dirty talk, this book is for you.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.
