About this audiobook
The main reason people don't act like Jesus is because they don't think like Jesus. Discover the seven core questions that Christians must be able to answer biblically in order to live a transformed life.
The latest data from researcher George Barna’s polls across America shows that we are confused by the issues that confront us today. We find ourselves wrestling with what is right and wrong. Some of us cut ethical corners and don’t even know it. We often base our actions on what feels right or keeps people happy rather than on what is best or true.
All because, Barna concludes, we lack an active, clear belief system based on solid, scriptural principles.
Now more than ever, we need a way of life that brings us clarity in chaos, peace in the problems, and boldness in the bad times. We need a new way of seeing—a biblical perspective that guides our every thought and action.
What is a biblical perspective on life? To put it simply, Barna says, it is a "way of dealing with the world so that we act like Jesus, twenty-four hours a day, because we think like Jesus. It’s like wearing a pair of eyeglasses that enable us to see things differently, to see things from God’s point of view, and to respond to these perceptions in the way He prescribes.”

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5According to the author, an individual "thinks like Jesus" (i.e. has a bibilcal world view) when one can affirm the following:1. God is the omniscient, all-powerful Creator of the universe who still rules the universe today;2. Jesus Christ lived a sinless life while on earth;3. Satan is a living being or entity, not just a concept or symbol of evil;4. A person cannot earn eternal salvation, but it is a free gift of God;5. A person who believes in Jesus Christ has a responsibility to share that faith with others who believe differently; and6. The Bible is totally accurate in all that it teaches. These six concepts form the basic litmus test of a person's belief system, although Barna does point out that a more complete profile of one's spiritual perspectives would include one's views on love, obedience, stewardship, service to others, etc.The book provides a blueprint on how individuals should live who claim to "think like Jesus." Those agreeing with Barna's assumptions will find this a helpful volume for personal discipleship and community (church) emphases. Persons who disagree completely - or partially - with the six primary statements (above) will find the book frustrating, or maddening, depending on one's perspective.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Predictable and unimaginative, though cprrect doctrinally.
