About this audiobook

A faulty construction job. The discovery of a dead body. A sinister plot.

On the family’s Brazos River Ranch in Texas, Avery Elliott helps run her grandfather’s commercial construction business. Raised by Senator Elliott, Avery has never doubted her grandfather is the man of integrity and faith she’s always
believed him to be … until the day she finds him standing with a gun over the body of a dead man. To make matters worse, Avery’s just discovered a billing discrepancy for materials supposedly purchased for construction of the Lago de Cobre Dam.

Desperate for answers, Avery contacts FBI Special Agent Marc Wilkins for help. As Marc works to identify the dead man Avery saw, threats toward Avery create a fresh sense of urgency to pinpoint why someone wants to silence her. With a
hurricane approaching the Texas coast and the structural integrity of the Lago de Cobre Dam called into question, time is running out to get to the bottom of a sinister plot that could be endangering the lives of not only Avery and her loved ones but the entire community.

What an awesome job the author did blending a bit of sweet romance with non-stop action, and a feeling that all would not survive!Avery is distressed and wants answers about things that don't add up in their business, her grandfather has her contact FBI Agent Marc Wilkins, and this sets up a set of events that makes all look for answers. This is Christian Suspense at its best, and I kept guessing who was responsible, and did I guess right? Well, sort of, but not really, all the way to the end we are looking for who or whom is responsible, and possibly more lives on the line.I highly recommend this read, and now I am looking for more from DiAnn Mills!I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Tyndale House, and was not required to give a positive review.

Right from the start Concrete Evidence by DiAnn Mills grabbed my attention. Murders, bombings, and assassination attempts are just a few of the things keeping FBI agent Marc Wilkins busy. Avery Elliott, determined business woman and heir to her grandfather’s dynasty, is right in the midst of things too as she dodges a murderer’s attempts to keep her from uncovering the truth of the threats against her family. The case keeps the two (and the reader) on their toes. The family dynamics for both Marc and Avery are a big plus, giving this romantic suspense novel a thoughtful side. Forgiveness is a strong theme, and both main characters are called upon to put it into action. The suspense thread kept me guessing, and the romantic elements were naturally woven in. The two mains are definitely attracted to each other, but keep their heads in dangerous situations. Faith elements are also strong — more than one character learns what it means to trust God to take care of them.A quick read, Concrete Evidence is perfect for a weekend road trip or staycation!Recommended.Audience: Adults.(I received an ARC from NetGalley. Concrete Evidence by DiAnn Mills is a Christian oriented story about a young woman, Avery Elliot who was taken in by her grandfather, Senator Elliot. One day Avery finds her father standing over a dead man with a gun. She has a hard time believing that her grandfather killed the man.FBI Special Agent Marc Wilkins thinks his estranged father's death was not a heart attack, he thinks that his father was murdered. He finds that there is a connection between his father and the Senator.Avery begins receiving threats and she finds a discrepancy in an invoice for materials that were used to build the Lago de Cobre Dam. With a major storm coming Avery and Marc find that the dam may not hold which causes many people to be evacuated.Marc along with his mother and newly found sister, Tessa, shelter at the ranch with Avery to keep everyone safe. A ranch hand goes missing and the worst is feared, he could be dead. Marc along with his partner Roden and Avery, they seek to find the truth or will they run out of time?I usually don't read a lot of Christian fiction, but I found that I did enjoy this book. Suspenseful, believable characters and a plot that kept the story going. Plus, the love interest between Avery and Marc was refreshing.

Concrete Evidence by DiAnn Mills is a Christian romantic suspense story that kept me reading to find out who was responsible for the murders and why. This is an well written, easy to imagine story with wonderful characters. Avery was raised by her grandfather, who was a senator and construction company owner. They have a very special bond, but when his friends are murdered, they both go into hiding.I really enjoyed this story. I enjoyed the family dynamics of FBI Special Agent Marc Wilkins. After all he endured with his father leaving him at a young age, he finds himself regretting knowing him and opens his heart and home to his step-sister. I especially enjoyed the character of his younger sister. For someone so young, she has such a strong faith and shares it willingly. I also enjoyed Marc’s partners view on his family. The story is very timely, at times I felt like I was reading today’s news.I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this story from NetGalley, this is my honest review.

A thrilling faith-forward Christian mystery set in south-central Texas near the banks of the Brazos River.Concrete Evidence is a riveting tale of betrayal, revenge, murder, and constant danger. The two main characters, Avery Elliott and Marc Wilkins, are determined in their search for answers and strong in their faith, though both doubt their steadfastness in their relationship with God at times. They are good and kind people, and I enjoyed their cautious but steadily growing love story. For all the nurturing love her grandparents lavished on her, Avery still has issues with her parents abandoning her as a young child. They continue to treat her horribly as an adult; they are awful people. Coincidentally, Marc experienced a similar situation at the hands of his father. The scene describing his father leaving him as a small boy of eight had me in tears. The subplot of how these two come to terms with this part of their pasts is emotional.I don’t think I’ve ever been so compelled to keep reading as I was with this book! The main plot, and the reason Avery’s grandfather goes on the lam, has a unique foundation and has to do with his construction business, making this book’s title a stroke of genius. There are twists as the story progresses and I was kept guessing and completely the entire time. With its intricate storyline and engaging characters who consider their words and actions within the framework of a life of faith, I recommend CONCRETE EVIDENCE to readers who enjoy faith-based tales of mystery and suspense.I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving an Advanced Review Copy from the author through Partners in Crime Virtual Book Tours.

Title: Concrete Evidence Author: DiAnn MillsPages: 416Year: 2022Publisher: Tyndale HouseMy rating: 5 out of 5 starsWhat an adventure! The minute I started reading the tale I was hooked! The story centers on a family that lives on the Brazos River Ranch in Texas. The grandfather, named Avery, is a man with faith and convictions to do what is right no matter how hard. Together they run a construction company as well as raise livestock. Avery is a young woman whose parents want nothing to do with her and allowed the grandfather to adopt her.Avery’s grandfather is a former senator and used to having enemies, which unfortunately includes his only son. Unidentified adversaries make several attempts to harm Avery and friends of the former senator. Some of those closest to the senator have recently died and under mysterious circumstances. Now the FBI is involved, and it is by special request that one of the victim’s sons, Mark Wilkins, is part of the investigation team.A hurricane is building in the Gulf and threatens so much rainfall that a local dam may be unable to contain the water. The dam was built by the Elliot construction company that is owned by the senator. Even though the dam is said to have passed two inspections, it becomes apparent that it was built substandard. How could this have occurred and who is responsible? There are many facets to the tale and characters who may be the ones who desire to bring down the senator and his company. Avery and Mark both have had broken pasts that only God can heal. Are these two characters able to grow and mature in their faith with what appears to be a romance blossoming between them?I enjoyed that the author allows her characters to face obstacles in their lives, wrestling with their faith and yet a thread of hope runs throughout the story. DiAnn Mills tells a gripping tale that will have readers asking who did the dirty deeds, but with a strong message of faith, hope and love. I highly recommend reading Concrete Evidence as well as her book last year titled Trace of Doubt for hours of exciting action and adventure!Note: The opinions shared in this review are solely my responsibility.
