This is the final book in the Dragon Slippers series. It was a well done conclusion to this series and I really enjoyed it alot. For some reason I felt like this book was a bit slower than the other books.In this book we get to see the dragons’ new home on the Far Islands. Unfortunately, shortly after their arrival on the Far Islands Creel and Luka learn that Luka’s father wants to take back the Far Islands and then Velika (Queen of Dragons) is kidnapped. It’s up to Creel and her companions to rescue the queen and help create an alliance between the dragons and Luka’s kingdom.This book has lots of great adventure and wonderful characters. I really love the dragons and enjoyed getting to see their new home. I did feel like this was the weakest book of the series, for some reason it just wasn’t as exciting as previous ones. It is still a very good read; highly entertaining, well written, and fun.Overall I enjoyed this book a lot and thought it did a decent job of wrapping up the series. I would recommend this series to anyone looking for a light and fun fantasy read with dragons and a strong, yet feminine, heroine.

It's clear that the author was tired of the series by now. A note even hints that she'd rather have been focusing on her family than hunched over her desk. And I'm tired of it, too, and glad this is the last. There were some interesting ideas and adventures here, but nothing really memorable or creative. And there wasn't nearly enough about sewing and fashion, which was the aspect that made the first book so fresh, made it stand out from all the other young girl saves the world fantasies out there. There's nothing really wrong with this, and I wouldn't dissuade interested children from it, but I can't recommend it. And I can't think of anything else to say.

While definitely not as good as the first two Dragon Slippers books, it's still a very fun dragon adventure. Creel is still pretty awesome, and Luka's cool. Hagen is pretty awesome, and I'm glad he got some page time. The dragons are all cool as well, though there were so many in this book that it was hard to appreciate them individually.The plot is probably the best thing about the book, because none of the characters seemed to get as much attention as they did in past books. The plot is certainly interesting, unexpected, and engaging.Unfortunately, it just doesn't live up to the other books in the series. Still a good book, though, and I don't regret reading it.

Dragon Spear is the third installment in the Dragon Slippers trilogy. After reading all three books, I cannot decide which one is my favorite. They are all equally amazing!

It was awesome to be able to visit the dragons on their new home in the Far Isles! It is a wonderful place filled with many new creatures, and the dragons are loving it! I liked how we got to hear about Shardas and his new collection that he started, and to see Velika for the first time in this book was not a surprise to me, but exciting nonetheless! I also enjoyed meeting some new dragons, and getting to know others better.

The plot moved along at a great pace! I was never uninterested because something exciting was always happening and it was intense during some parts too! The characters are more developed as the story moves on and you get to know more about them. The new characters that are introduced are well described, and developed rather well for being introduced in the last book. You come to like some of them and despise the others. Being able to feel this way about the characters really makes this such a great series for me! I like it when they feel like real people and have their faults; perfection creates unreal people.

Exploring all these new places in this book was interesting. You get to see the Far Isles, then you get to see an even farther away island where Velika is taken. Here you meet some strange new dragons and people and learn about their culture. These people/dragons have a strange way of life!

This was definitely an enjoyable conclusion to the series and left me satisfied with a good ending. However, there may be room for another one. I sure hope so! I would love to revisit my favorite characters.

And a very nice rounding-off of the series. We learn even more about the dragons - again, culturally and physically - including a spin-off group with _weird_ customs. The only thing is I have trouble figuring out who's on which side - the old dragon told about the carvings, but throws a fit at some of the things the mainline dragons consider requirements, for instance. Peder No-color is great, though. I like him standing up to his mother. It's odd - possibly because of the name of the second book and a co-incidence of timing (Anne McCaffrey just died), but I'm getting quite a few echoes of the Pern dragons. The story, and the dragons, are quite different - but the stealing of the little queen (heh, that itself is a Pern reference) and several other phrases and scenes echoed Pern to me. I wonder if it was intentional. Anyway - the story is nicely complete now. It could, of course, extend to more books - but George would have to come up with (yet another) enemy-out-of-nowhere. This problem is well and truly solved. And happy endings all around. Nice - I'll be looking for more of George's books (I have one other now).

Such a satisfying end to an amazing series of books. It was wonderful to revisit with the dragons and see how happy they are in their new lands. The romance between Creel and Luka was quite satisfying and I really enjoyed all the secondary characters. As in the first two books, the story was a rollercoaster ride from beginning to end. You just want to keep reading quickly to find out what happens next and yet you also want to be able to savor each moment. This talented author really knows how to hook your interest and keep it. I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes dragons and fairy tale type stories. It really has something for everyone young and old.
