About this audiobook

As the Race for the Book of the Wars Escalates the World Teeters on the Brink

Leif Metcalfe and his team, dubbed Reaper, need to recover the ancient Book of the Wars if they hope to stop
the Armageddon Coalition and their pursuit of global economic control. But their attention has been diverted by
a prophecy in the book that foretells of formidable warriors who will decimate the enemies of ArC. While Iskra
Todorova uses her connections in the covert underworld to hunt down the Book of the Wars, Leif and Reaper attempt
to neutralize these agents but quickly find themselves outmaneuvered and outgunned.

The more Reaper tries to stop the prophesied warriors, the more failure becomes a familiar, antagonistic foe.
Friendships are fractured, and the team battles to hold it together long enough to defeat ArC. But as this millennia-old
conspiracy creeps closer and closer to home, the implications could tear Leif and the team apart.

Title: Kings Falling (The Book of the Wars #2)Author: Ronie KendigPages: 349Year: 2020Publisher: Bethany House Publishers, Inc.My rating is 4 out of 5 stars.Iskra Todorova (Viorica from Storm Rising) is now fighting on the side of right. She and Leif have a romantic relationship still taking shape. Iskra is after the Book of Wars because she has been told it will lead her to a group of super warriors and her brother. She hasn’t seen her brother in 10 years but feels as if he might be fighting on the side of wrong. If she can find him, she will do everything she can to save him. Meanwhile, she must play a dangerous game with an old nemesis who also wants her to find the Book of Wars for him as he has plans to conquer the world via his nefarious organization, ArC. She must pretend to be looking for the book for him because he claims to have information about her brother.Leif Metcalfe is in charge of a special forces operations team called Reaper. Their original task was to locate the Book of Wars, but they also have information about specific super soldiers. These super soldiers work alone but gain access to high powered targets and eliminate them. Reaper now must stop these soldiers before they claim their next target. Reaper hasn’t been too successful in the past at stopping them, but maybe this time they will succeed. Meanwhile, Leif is having the same nightmare or is it suppressed memories? He still is searching for information about his six-month memory loss and is frustrated that he keeps hitting roadblocks from his boss and others. Sometimes these memories or imaginings are accompanied by a pain in his head. Is he going crazy?Wow, what an adrenaline rush! Whew, there is so much action in this book that you, like me, will be unable to wait until November for the third book to be released! I definitely recommend reading book one, Storm Rising, before reading this book because book two picks up right where book one leaves off. There is lots of military jargon, but I found it easy to follow. I loved seeing the storylines between Adam and Peyton, Mercy and Baddar, and the others progress. There are plenty of plot twists and great characters to admire, root for, or root against. My only negative is that there is no mention of faith or Christ, and this is categorized as Christian fiction.Note: The opinions shared in this review are solely my responsibility.

Need an escape from quarantine yet? Look no further than Kings Falling! This second book in Ronie Kendig’s The Book of the Wars series is a fast-paced adventure, perfect for breaking up the monotony of days at home. This is a series that deserves to be read in order, so I do not want to say too much about this story and risk spoiling parts of Storm Rising (if you haven’t read it yet, just do it!). Still, the characters—Leif Metcalfe and his team—are what make Kings Falling as riveting as it is. Kendig makes space for solid character and relationship development (and witty interactions!), and it is just hard not to enjoy them. Through the action-packed twists and turns then, it is inevitable to end up on the edge of the seat, heart racing.I am not surprised that I loved Kings Falling. It is an easy book to love. (But maybe I should not because cruelly, it left me so in need of Soul Raging.)I received a complimentary copy of this book and the opportunity to provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own.

If you have not read a book by this author, you are doing a disservice to yourself. Her writing style is on point with top notch action and intrigue that explodes across the pages. The characters are well developed and trained experts in t completing their mission. The book digs deep into the dark world of spies, assassins and pure evil. Lief is my very character with his strength and attitude. He won’t allow anything to get in the way of his mission. I loved his fierce loyalty to his team and tried not to let anything distract him. Iskra and Leif have friction between them but I think it made them stronger as a team. They have an important task before them and need to put aside their differences for now. I call their relationship a slow burn that sizzles just at the top. It needs attention but the author allows readers to get small doses at a time.I became impatient with myself as I tried to read as fast as I could. There are so many “I didn’t see that coming moments,”that I was nearing the edge of my seat. I had to hold on as the story dove deep into enemy territory. It’s a race against time as secrets are exposed and terror surrounds Leif and Iskra. Without giving anything away, I will say the author has written a story that screams for justice and prayers that the team stays safe and conquers their quest. I have a few questions I hope to get answers to in the next installment of the series. Get ready for the ride of your life in this story that whisks you away to foreign countries and in contact with people who will do anything to protect what is theirs.I received a copy of this book from the author and Bethany House. The review is my own opinion.

"He pulled her spine to his chest and tightened his arms around her. Crushed her close. Anything so he didn't pummel her with apologies and let her see his brokenness, the terror that had claimed his soul."What an incredible thrilling adventure with the Reaper team! This sequel to Storm Rising takes the team all over the world as it seeks to recover that elusive Book of the Wars from the hands of the villain and to neutralize the band of super-soldiers dubbed Neiothen before they become activated to do the villain's biddings. The first book is a must-read before starting this one because it lays out all the background information and this book adds delicious details and major plot twists to that background. Reading this book is like tasting and savoring one layer of a scrumptious three-tier cake at a time, loving how each ingredient and flavor meld to make a beautiful creation and trembling with excitement and anticipation at what the next layer will hold. The plot is fast-paced with plenty of action, adrenaline, and suspense. The team's banter and camaraderie are fun and hysterical. The secondary characters, like Peyton, Adam, Mercy, and Cell, become more solidified in this book and it was truly a pleasure to get to know the other team members better. And, wow, the plot twists had my head spinning and it's still spinning days after finishing the story. Leif and Iskra, of course, are still the main characters of the series and I can't wait to see where Ronie Kendig will take us in the final book of the series. If you enjoy paramilitary romantic suspense/thriller, you will absolutely love this book and the series. No one does it better than Ronie Kendig! I received a copy of the book from Bethany House Publishers and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
