About this audiobook
The Maze Runner meets The Hunger Games in this heart-pounding teen trilogy. This second book in the Prey series is a suspenseful story of courage, survival, and doing what's right, no matter how hard. Orphaned teens, soon to be hunted for sport, must fight for a better life. Riveting action, intense romance, and gripping emotion make this fast-paced adventure a standout.
Fifteen escaped and found their way to freedom, but Book, Hope, and Cat can't settle into their new life knowing the rest of the Less Thans and Sisters are still imprisoned. Now the teens must retrace their steps to save the others and thwart the Republic's dark plans to destroy those deemed different, even as relationships are tested and the path back is filled with danger.
With new enemies lurking, the group must put their fate into the hands of unexpected allies and must ask themselves how far they're willing to go to free their friends.

Reviews for The Capture

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Hope sucks.
The book is decent otherwise. But my god I hate hope. Her character fills me with so much rage.
Character behavior throughout is wildly inconsistent, and everyone in these books (aside from cat) seems to lack basic knowledge and logic. The level of stupidity among these characters is tremendous.
“Leave the guns, they’ll only slow us down.” Is one of the dumbest lines I’ve ever heard, especially coming from cat, who is the most realistic character we’ve been given. This whole book could have been 62 chapters shorter had they decided to steal a gun or two.
Every 5 minutes Hope is getting saved by book, and immediately after she is angry with him. “What makes you think I need your help?” OH but moments before she was fantasizing about how she wished Book would come save her..
Book saves her approximately 7,000 times throughout this story, and the very next thing we hear is “I just don’t know if I can trust you..” Bruh.
The drama between book and hope is so uneeded and petty. Book doesn’t seem to care, but he lets her Berate him every chance she gets.
Dozer is an idiot and anyone who would have followed him over the rest of the group is simply mentally unstable.
Which brings me to 4. Why make 4, one of the most interesting characters we’ve been given, why destroy that with a smack to the head? Dude became like disabled and book saw that as his chance to low key swipe his dog.
A lot of things in these books are irritating, and I found myself screaming at characters a lot of the time. The plot is rather weak, and the writing was meh. There is action, adventure, and decent mystery, which aid in staying interested in the story.
Overall I’d say give it a try. Unless you hate stupid characters. Literally STUPID characters. Still slightly enjoyable to listen to. Hope you found this helpful. Thank you.
