This former church member thinks this book would be an enjoyable read – especially for PIMOs, Jack Mormons, or post-Mos. (especially those who live in the Intermountain West.) But I don’t think active members of the LDS church would find it entertaining, with its somewhat excessive discussion of the temple rituals. Having gone through the temple myself (before 1990, the date the blood oaths were removed – I think?) I quickly found myself involved with the plot, characters, and everything else in here! I feel bad that there's only one Abish Taylor mystery coming.
I do wish somebody had helped the excellent narrator with the eccentric ways Mormons pronounce our unusual words! “Zion,” etc. sounded so funny to me when spoken accurately!
