Amazing how the characters came to life. Suck strong faith and amazon love. Will look for others by this author. Audiobook presenter was one of the best I’ve listened too.

Laura Frantz is a new author to me, and I truly loved this tale! Listening to the audiobook was a true pleasure, with beautiful narration
That covered everything from Scottish brogue to Virginian belle. It was a true treat to hear all of these differences meld together in a story that took me through adventures, history, climates, and cultures I knew little of. There's a little something for everyone, and just the perfect touch of sigh-worthy, clean romance.

Off to look for another novel by this talented writer...but this is one I might well read again someday, and THAT, my friends, does not happen much! Oh, how I hope for a sequel!!

    Recommended!

Wonderfully read and an excellent storyline. I wonder if any of us would handle all that they went through so well, but also love that you can see that God made them for each other and made a way for them to be together, even though it didn't seem like he was making a way at the time. I love how the author represents normal human emotions through a trial, and shows how hard it is to have faith in difficult times, but also how rewarding that same faith can be.

Delightful tale well written and very well read with a great Scottish accent and variety of voices!

I often wonder why parents think they know who their children should marry overruling the wishes of their children who then suffer from the parents choices! I fell down on my face beseeching God to remove a young lady from my son’s world, thinking her to be a poor choice. God removed her and my son married another who was truly a bad choice for him while the first young lady turned out to be a deeply committed Christian…I so wish I had stayed out of it!

The Laird’s father had superficial reasons to choose Isla as his son’s spouse and it was indeed a bad choice!
