About this audiobook
Nicole, a socially awkward loner, hasn't seen her family of origin or her hometown for decades. Blocking out the pain and memories of her earlier life, she's spent this time honing her skills as a talented wildlife photographer. When she's offered a dream contract for a book, she hesitates, realizing that she would have to return to her hometown to do it. She takes it, hoping she can enjoy it without seeing her family, the woman she had adored from afar, or dredging up the past.

Ellen grew up on Long Island New York and can’t imagine living anywhere that isn’t surrounded by water. She has gotten even closer by relocating to the farms and vineyards of The North Fork. The slow quiet pace of the off-season, is worth the price of tourist season. In her heart, her second home is Provincetown, MA. A short ferry ride and drive away. She has been absorbing the written word her whole life, getting there degrees from philosophy, to history education, to finally law. Having been caught up in the new world of lesbian fan-fiction that seemed to take off in the late 1990’s, she found her muses and took up fiction writing. My favorite book of all time is The Yellow Wallpaper. But close second is anything by Edgar Allan PoeMy favorite lesbian fiction novel is Lost Daughters by J.M Redmann. This was the book that made me feel deeply and involved in. I have been a fan ever since.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a really well written book. I enjoyed every minute of it. The narrator is new to me but I think very well chosen for this story. I highly recommend this book.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It could just be the narrator that makes it choppy or it could be the author’s writing style. It just wasn’t interesting.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Wrong narrator choice, when the characters are mature women. Doesn't make it feel like you are actually in the story.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The book may be better, but the narration was horrible. It totally distracted from the enjoyment of the story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was very good I love the characters in one of the main characters as the intro how your mind works first time listening to a book by this author
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The story itself was decent, the narrator voices are a little too young sounding for 49 yr olds. While I'm not as extreme an introvert, I understand her as I'm 70% like her. It's not easy to find someone who is understanding and can except being shown how one feels without always speaking the words.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The narrator really did this book a disservice. I wish I would have read it instead of listening. The thoughts sounded like conversation - it was confusing to decipher between the actual conversation and inner thoughts. Emphasis was often in the wrong place in sentences. Everything sounded somewhat like a commentator. I think if Abby Craden or even anyone else, it would have been fine.
