About this audiobook

When photo-journalist Kelly Sheffield is offered the chance to travel to Greenland for coverage of American science teams, she grabs it. Not only is it a dream assignment, it also means she'll have a chance to reconnect with the compelling Jordan Westgate, the glaciologist studying the melting ice cap.

Jordan hasn't forgotten Kelly, nor has she forgotten that she'd found it hard, all those years ago, to firmly reject the inappropriate overtures from a student. This Kelly-self-assured, successful, and even more attractive-is a threat to Jordan's equilibrium, something she simply can't allow.

Kelly finds the frozen landscape a match for Jordan's chilly attitude. But Greenland is a surprising land of beauty and danger where even the iciest heart can melt.

    Mixed feelings about this book
I liked parts of this book and was not so happy with other parts. Primarily, I loved the science and the adventure. I disliked some of the romance and characters and relationships. There was a lot of sort of extra drama. Let's say that I liked all of the characters at times, but also got really disgusted with them at times. I think I would have liked the book with less romance, which is sad to say. I usually wouldn't say that. I usually want more romance. But in this case, sometimes the drama was cringe-worthy. I did like some of the relationship aspects, but was turned off by other aspects. I really liked the earlier relationship between Kelly and Jordan and also between Kelly and Pippa (platonic). I didn't like the aspect of Jordan's past. I have incredibly mixed feelings about this book. But Greenland seems fascinating and the science of it all is really interesting, too. This book was written in 2013, so I wonder if it's just a bit dated. The bit about the ancient past was interesting and unexpected, which can be both good and bad. It wasn't what I was expecting, but I think it worked. The ending didn't really resolve much, but it was still satisfying. I listened to the audiobook. The narrator, Anastasia Watley, is really good. I can't speak to the writing since I only listened, but I didn't hear any mistakes, and I think the story flowed well.
