About this audiobook

They used to call her the Bon-Bon Heiress. As one of Bon-Bon Chocolates heiresses, Tiffany Bonander grew up in New York with a silver spoon, a heart of gold, and a lifelong supply of sweets. But now her life is falling apart. Recent changes in cocoa supply from Ecuador are threatening the quality of the family’s chocolate and sales are down. Add to that Tiff’s penchant for falling in love quickly and breaking engagements at the last minute…Now they call her the Bon-Voyage Bride.

Jackson Hardaway is trekking through the Andes in Ecuador as a tribute to a fallen comrade. He didn’t expect to meet a beautiful damsel in distress and her three fairy godmothers…er, trio of meddlesome nuns…on his journey. But everything in Ecuador is bigger – the trees, the snakes, the attraction. Is this love? Or just another case made to label Tiff a Runaway Bride? Find out in The Wedding Promise by Melinda Curtis.

Editor's Note

Sweetly Satisfying...

Curtis’ “Bridesmaids” series kicks off with a runaway bride, the heiress to a chocolate fortune. Like chocolate, this book is sweet and satisfying, setting up the rest of the series brilliantly.

Author

Melinda Curtis

Melinda grew up on an isolated sheep ranch, where mountain lions had been seen and yet she roamed unaccompanied. Being a rather optimistic, clueless of danger, sort she took to playing "what if" games that led her to become an author.  She spends days trying to figure out new ways to say "He made her heart pound."  That might sound boring, but the challenge keeps her mentally ahead of her 3 kids and college sweetheart husband.

What our readers think

Readers find this title to be a mix of positive and negative. Many readers enjoyed the short and sweet romantic story, with a nice amount of background on the main characters. However, some readers felt unsatisfied with the ending, finding it unfinished and lacking a clear resolution. Overall, the book has potential but could benefit from a more conclusive ending.

Fun short story, till it ended. It was left unfinished and not knowing if things came to pass or not. I feel unsatisfied and hope the rest of the series satisfies it.

Great beginning but feels unfinished. Since the heroine was so flighty, it would be nice to see follow through.

Short but satisfying. I'm a sucker for an insta-connection. I felt like we got the right amount of background on each of the main characters without being overly in their heads.

The ending was unsatisfying. It doesn't actually tell you whether or not either goals were accomplished. For how important these goals were to the plot line makes no sense. Not even in the epilogue. What happened to the strain of Cocoa? did they finally meet up at that bed? and breakfast? did he make it across Ecuador? All she did was established that they were in love.

This is a fun, entertaining read. Jackson and Tiffany are complex, interesting, intriguing, entertaining, relatable, fun characters. I enjoyed them individuals and their romance. Curtis packs a lot in less than 100 pages. I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series to see how their romance and those of other characters play out.

I enjoyed the audio version of this book and the narrator.
