About this audiobook
To the outside world, Cara’s life seems perfect. The only one who knows the dark secrets inside her home is her best friend and next-door neighbor, Adam. Cara’s only escape is by writing and sharing her stories with him through their facing bedroom windows late at night. Just when everything seems to get better, Cara’s world shatters, causing her to spiral into a deep depression and writer’s block. Even though Adam promises her “everything will be okay,” she knows things will never be the same. As she clutches to the fractured wounds of the past, how will Cara ever be able to love or write again? BREATHTAKING is a heart-wrenching coming-of-age story that fans of John Green and Nicholas Sparks will love.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book is so poignant, deep, and truly heart-wrenching but probably one of the best I’ve listened to in a long while. Worth the tears you’ll shed and the deep breaths needed to get through it—“breathtaking” indeed.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Have you ever started a book that you were unsure of at the beginning, and then by the end, sitting in a puddle of tears?
?Breathtaking, by Courtney Turcotte Bond, did just that! I started reading the novel, and then switched to audio, thanks @scribd . Once I began to listen, I fell into the story of Cara, her disengaged, dysfunctional parents, and her best friend Adam who lives next door, with his All-American family. We follow these two from grade school to high school, and through unspeakable tragedies. We then follow Cara as she attends college and tries to piece her life back together.
?This novel, a debut mind you, has beautiful prose, and the most amazing poetry. As a lover of language I began to wish I had a hard copy to highlight and underline, and write all over. Stunning!
?Additionally, this is based on a true story, with the most amazing twist, I never saw coming. Breathtaking is right!
?Breathtaking is a story of loss, death, grief, depression and finding the strength to live again. This book is bound to make you smile, laugh and cry over and over again.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow….I’m left speechless. The last few chapters of this book might be some of my favorite pages of a book. The poetry is stunning and the storyline even more compelling & it deeply stirred my soul. Well done Courtney…way to follow your heart with this beautiful story. And thank you for sharing it with the world.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was a good listen. It took many unexpected turns, which is good. I hate predictability when it comes to books. I would recommend.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What a beautiful story of addiction, young love, perseverance, life and death. I couldn’t stop listening.beautiful!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Oh My Word * Once you read/ listen to this book, you'll understand the reference, lol. This book was such a beautifully wooven story. A tear jerker; the book seemed at first a typical teen drama, a boy and girl next door romance, but it's clearly so much more. Listen/ read this book. You won't regret it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Perfect in so many ways. As someone who grew up like Kira, I knew all that would and happen to her but I didn’t have a hero and a friend like Adam. This book filled my soul and I was so well thought out and profound, especially because I may soon be a live donor giving my kidney to my father.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Not at all what I was expecting when I started listening to the book. It was so heart wrenching and beautiful.
