I’ve loved the Ascendance series ever since reading “The False Prince” to my 6th grade students. I actually gasped at certain parts of “Shatterd Castle.” The final book in the series includes Jaron’s typical humor, intelligence, and deviousness. The narrator of the audible book, Charlie McWade, does a great job bringing beloved characters to life. I had a big grin on my face finishing this book, but am sad that this is the last adventure of Sage/Jaron. A very satisfying conclusion to a beloved series (And as a teacher and librarian, that is high praise).

Beautiful, captivating series. Each story is well crafted and keeps your attention until the very end. Recommended for 13 older since there are several battles and fights descriptions.
