I knew very little about WW1. The author explored the different sides of this complex war, the consequences that carry on to present day. The story was woven together by five teens and it was interesting to see the connections between them.

Excellent storytelling that hones in on courage to do the right thing, even when it involves someone who should be the enemy.

Is chock-full of suspense! The tight, wind, climaxes, and the deep desire drama are definitely there in every sentence!

Jennifer Neilson is one of my all time favorite authors. In this amazing book, she weaves her great writing into a truly stunning masterpiece that portrays World War I. Five different characters grow up during this war and changing with it in an amazing way. Finally, near the end, Neilson concludes this story in a wonderful way that ties everything together in a perfect bow!

Another great book from Jenn Nielsen! The way everyone connects is a bit far fetched (& Garanov is almost a bit clownish) but it makes sense for a YA/children’s book. The story is more compelling, watching the chain reaction of each characters choices. Great read!
