Book one and two were very good, I could have passed on book 3. I'm a fan of Alpha Male characters that take charge and know what they want. It's so refreshing to see a man convince a woman of the relationship versus the other way around.

Diamond is always a solid storytelling but the story missed the mark for me with unlikeable characters and an obstacle that was 75% in their heads.

I didn’t finish it so I guess take what I have to say with a grain of salt. I read a different book by this author and I thought it was just a fluke, but I think she writes the men to be traditionally manly and somewhat forceful. In the first book of the series, there were a lot of little things I didn’t like about the main character’s interactions but what took the cake was when the man walks her to her door and then tells her he’s coming in and initiates sex. and it happened TWICE! Maybe I’m a little new age, but I think consent is important. The second time made me really upset because the female character literally dismissed him and told him bye but he went into her house anyways. Maybe this wasn’t the author’s intention, but I found the male character to be pushy and a little creepy. That coupled with the dragging yet predictable storyline made me stop listening. I guess If you’re into men taking charge and making decisions for women, then this may be the book for you. but not for me.
