About this audiobook
"An action-packed audiobook sure to delight."—AudioFile Magazine
From the New York Times bestselling author Darynda Jones comes the second novel in her laugh-out-loud Sunshine Vicram mystery series, A Good Day for Chardonnay.
Running a small-town police force in the mountains of New Mexico should be a smooth, carefree kind of job. Sadly, full-time Sheriff—and even fuller-time coffee guzzler—Sunshine Vicram, didn’t get that memo.
All Sunshine really wants is one easy-going day. You know, the kind that starts with coffee and a donut (or three) and ends with take-out pizza and a glass of chardonnay (or seven). Turns out, that’s about as easy as switching to decaf. (What kind of people do that? And who hurt them?)
Before she can say iced mocha latte, Sunny’s got a bar fight gone bad, a teenage daughter hunting a serial killer and, oh yes, the still unresolved mystery of her own abduction years prior. All evidence points to a local distiller, a dangerous bad boy named Levi Ravinder, but Sun knows he’s not the villain of her story. Still, perhaps beneath it all, he possesses the keys to her disappearance. At the very least, beneath it all, he possesses a serious set of abs. She’s seen it. Once. Accidentally.
Between policing a town her hunky chief deputy calls four cents short of a nickel, that pesky crush she has on Levi which seems to grow exponentially every day, and an irascible raccoon that just doesn’t know when to quit, Sunny’s life is about to rocket to a whole new level of crazy.
Yep, definitely a good day for chardonnay.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I had to stop when it started describing the detailed sexual feelings of teenagers. I understand that teenagers go through these things but I don’t want to read about that for entertainment.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5If I could do more than 5 stars I would! I absolutely loved this book!! I am soooo sad I have to wait until December for the next audiobook. One of my new favorite series!

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I loved it but there were some places that I kept getting distracted because it was a little dry. The ending gahhhhhhh .. the frustration! However I'm waiting on the next book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such a great story! Love the characters and the excitment. It followed the first story perfectly and just keep you wanting more. Lorelei's voice is smooth and almost hypnotic and Darynda Jones will remain one of my most favorite authors!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Another cliffhanger...this was just a waste of time. Not only unbelievable but also highly dumb
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It's hard to beat Darynda Jones for a great combination of smart and snark. This is another excellent read from her. I was a bit hesitant to move from my beloved Charley Davidson series to Sunshine Vicram, unsure whether poor Sunshine could meet my expectations. But indeed, she did! The first two books have been smart and fun, with an interesting cast of characters surrounding Sunshine at work and at home. I love her relationships with her precocious daughter and her parents. And it's fun to watch her building her team in her new position as Sheriff of a small New Mexico town. Add in a few mysteries to solve, both professionally and personally, and it all makes for a terrific read.
I listened to the audiobook version, and can't recommend it highly enough. Darynda Jones' writing and Lorelei King's narration make for a brilliant combination.
