About this audiobook

Your household is not just a shelter from a war zone; it is the command center from where you launch your attacks. It's this vision of the world, with the Christian family at the heart, that modern parents desperately need to recover.

Well written and a fair overview of some often unpopular-yet true and clear-biblical principles. Notwithstanding, I was hoping for a lot more practical application. And for all the talk about the biblical foundations of the author's view of marriage and proper family structures...his model of the family and for the home appears to have its true foundations in the culture and theology of classic pagan philosophy and ethics. Humanistic patriarchy while having some similarities to biblical patriarchy, is just as dangerous to rely on as a foundation as pegan feminism. If one is trying to make a biblical case for something they really shouldn't try and prove their point with the majority of the book focusing on examples from secular humanistic cultural history.

I loved this book. It takes some patience at first as you wait for him to make his case, but it's very insightful on God's design for the household and how vivid a picture it's meant to paint of Christ's rule over the cosmos and the entirety of the believer's hope. I heartily recommend it.

A great logical argument for the order of creation and therefore the household.
