About this audiobook

The first of three novels, INTO THE FURY follows Ethan Brodie who's contracted as extra security for La Belle Lingerie when their top ten models receive threatening letters. His job: to protect the ladies, and maybe find the culprit. The one rule: no fraternizing with any of the models. Having sworn off women indefinitely, he thinks he'll be able to handle it. Then he meets Val, one of the threatened models, just trying to make some money, go back to school, and finish her veterinary degree. As the threat becomes real and someone dies, Ethan finds he wants to keep Val safe, and it's not just because of his job.

KAT MARTIN

For New York Times bestselling author Kat Martin, a career in real estate led her down the road to romance. Through real estate, Kat found her own perfect match — her husband, Western author Larry Jay Martin. "We were on opposing sides of a transaction — I represented the seller and he represented the buyer," Kat recalls. A short time after the two became acquainted, Larry asked her to read an unpublished manuscript of an historical western he'd written. Kat fell in love with both the book and the author! "It was quite a romantic story," she admits. "I'd still like to see it get published." Then, after doing some editing for her future husband, she thought she'd try her own hand at writing. Kat moved on to become the bestselling author of over thirty historical and contemporary romance novels. To date, 10 million copies of her books are in print, and she's been published around the globe, including Germany, Norway, Sweden, China, Korea, Bulgaria, Russia, England, South Africa, Italy, Spain, Argentina and Greece. When she's not writing, Kat also enjoys skiing and traveling, particularly to Europe. Currently, she's busy writing her next book. Having read and loved one of Kat Martin’s books previously I was eager to read this book. I was not quite as impressed with this story as I was with “Against the Tide” but wonder if that had to do with it being the first in a new series that required introduction of many characters or if it had to do with so much going on in the book that it sometimes seemed to drag a bit. Ethan’s expectations of Valentine Hart, a beautiful lingerie model were blown to smithereens as he got to know her better. Ethan, in charge of the security detail hired by La Belle, had the task of supervising a team of men working as security for the models. Val’s thoughts regarding Ethan were also challenged over time and she was also required to rethink a previous stance she took when a teenager. Ethan and Val were drawn to one another from the beginning but with a no-sex clause in their contracts to keep them apart it became interesting at times. In addition to the story of the beautiful models and hunky security team going on tour across the USA there was a murder and a mystery or two to solve before the end of the book. The introduction of Dirk and Meg was made as a prelude to the second book in this new series. I am looking forward to reading the second book as I liked the characters and the plot sounds intriguing. The story was interesting but I did not find anything new in the story and it had a LOT going on – perhaps more than one story should deal with to be as tight and concise as it needs to be to hold the full attention of the reader. That said…I enjoyed the book and do look forward to reading the next book in the series. I also was reading an ARC and wonder if there will be additional changes made before it is released. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the copy of this book to read and review.
