About this audiobook
Haggai Carmon
Haggai Carmon is an Israeli lawyer who has been representing the United States Government in civil litigation cases in Israel since 1985. He has also worked as a covert agent, gathering intelligence for the US government in over thirty countries. After years of intelligence work, Carmon came to realize that his real-life exploits were more compelling than most of the crime fiction he enjoyed, and thus found an outlet for his extraordinary adventures in his first novel Triple Identity, first published in 2009. He has since followed up with four more books in the Dan Gordon Series: The Red Syndrome, Triangle of Deception, The Chameleon Conspiracy, and Defection Games. In addition to his career as a lawyer and writer of spy thrillers, Carmon is a frequent contributor to The Huffington Post and The International Tribune and is the author of the nonfiction book Foreign Judgments in Israel: Recognition and Enforcement.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Dan Gordon works for the US Government chasing criminals who have committed crimes such as money laundering and embezzlement. When he gets handed a 20-year old case with no new leads he doesn't realize the whirl wind that this case would take him on. He travels the world searching for the Chameleon, or at least searching for clues to find where this man has hidden. This book was pretty good. Carmon does a great job keeping you reading. I hated when I had to set this one down. It is suspenseful, to say the least. There are lots of twists and turns, and most all of them are completely unexpected (at least I didn't see them coming). The characters are somewhat two-dimensional, with the exception of Dan Gordon, but the plot more than makes up for a small lack in character development. Overall I'd say I liked this one. It was well written, and the situations seemed plausible to me. It was an interesting look at how a government agent gathers information and uses that information to track the bad guys. I will defiantly be getting my hands of some of Carmon's other works.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5One of my favorite genres of reading is espionage, spy, CIA type plots. When I started this novel and it was about tracking down money-laundering schemes and recovering the money, and the agent was an attorney from the Department of Justice. I first thought, this was not going to be my "cup of tea". Well, I was wrong. It started out slow and I almost lost interest, but it built and it built and then I could not put it down. Dan Gordon is a very believable character and you can almost feel yourself immersed in the details of unraveling the scheme. The international flavor of moving the action from New York to Switzerland, Vienna, Iran, etc. really adds to the enjoyment of the novel. The twists and turns are not necessarily predictable, but pretty straightforward.
