About this audiobook
Well aware of the stigma of AIDS, the Glasers retreated behind a wall of secrecy to protect their family. Only when the National Enquirer threatened to invade that privacy, did the Glasers "go public". Despite the book's title, In the Absence of Angels is a heartwarming story filled with angels - generous, caring, imaginative people who listened and helped.
Elizabeth Glaser
Illustrator, Elizabeth Glaser, is retired and lives in northern Wisconsin with her husband. Most of her artwork is of animals and landscapes that reflect her love of nature. She has worked in oils, acrylics, colored pencils, and graphite. Elizabeth is self-taught, but has taken independent art and painting, and commercial art classes. In addition to drawing most of her life, crafting has always been an interest, and includes greeting cards, scrapbooking, quilting, and wood art. While earning a living as a secretary in numerous capacities and raising two children, Elizabeth occasionally took part in art shows and gallery sales. Most of her artwork sales have been by commission. More recently, she has illustrated six children's picture books, including two with author, Annette Gagliardi: The Three Betty Goats Griff, and Resourceful Erica. Ponderosa Pines is Elizabeth's first illustrated chapter book.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a very hard book to read know that the author has passed away, It is a very well written and tragic story of how her family was affected by AIDS. The author shows the struggles and fight to come to term with what has happened to her family and an iron will to change how society and the government deals with aids victims especially children.
