NC500(ish) tour

Having had several bike trips, concerts and family holidays cancelled over Covid, I was champing at the bit to get away in the summer of 2021 – a UK-based tour, which seemed to be the only realistic option, so a group of us did just that. I’ve never travelled any further north than Inverness so the NC500 seemed like a great place to start. Starting from Liverpool, we had five days.

The ride up was straightforward, part M6, before leaving the monotonous A74(M) on the A701. What a difference! The improvement in riding and scenery away from the main road was striking, though we had to rejoin the masses to cross the Forth before stopping at Perth for the night.

Our NC500(ish) tour really started next day, heading north on the A9 and treated to awesome views from Kessock bridge. Opened
