TIP OF THE FORTNIGHT
Make bookmarks visible in Microsoft Word
Your tip in Issue 625 (page 47) on adding bookmarks to Word was useful, but you didn’t mention that you can make Word show where the bookmarks are located. I find this helps hugely when navigating large documents – which, as a semi-retired solicitor, I have to do often.
First you need to click the File tab, then Options at the bottom followed by Advanced. Next, scroll down to the ‘Show document content’ heading and tick the ‘Show bookmarks’ box. Now simply click OK to make the change.
Once you’ve done that, any bookmarks added to highlighted text or images will be shown as in our screenshot), while those placed elsewhere will appear as a thin vertical cursor , like an I-beam shape.
