I am watching: Season 1 (of 12) of animated adult spy comedy series Archer on Netflix.
My take on this show: If you’ve ever watched James Bond films and thought the things he did seemed too dumb, flashy and chaotic for spy work, Archer – which centres on implausibly lucky, unbelievably thick, vain, sexist and self-centred superspy Sterling Archer (voiced by H Jon Benjamin) – delivers exactly that… dialled up to 11. The agency Archer works for – ISIS – is filled with misfits who might have taken a morals and ethics workshop once, but they’ve since lost the notes. The late Jessica Walter (see below) voices Archer’s mom and ruthless spy agency boss Malory Archer, and her every word is gold.
