We’ve all been guilty of holding ourselves awkwardly or tensing up when stressed, and the outcome can be bad for our bodies and minds. ‘Tension occurs when our muscles remain semi-contracted for an extended period,’ says Dr Gill Jenkins, advisor to Deep Heat. ‘The pain, which results from trigger points in the muscles, or tightness of the muscles’ fascia lining, can be caused by repetitive actions. Stress can cause our body muscle tension.’
