AMERICAN DINER MENU
When I was growing up, American food seemed glamorous. This was the ‘80s, and diners like Hard Rock Cafe and Planet Hollywood were where the stars hung out. Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to the US to host events and record programmes, such as last year’s American Feast for Food Network. Yes, the burgers are great, but it was good to see that the growers, cooks and chefs take so much pride in their produce and cooking. Here are some of the recipes I picked up along the way – enjoy each on their own or as one big feasting menu. It’s a good taste of US homestyle cooking. Tom
