Sara ran for Stanford University, where she was a 7-time
All-American and 3-time NCAA runner-up in track. She turned pro in 2005 and runs professionally for Asics. She is the fifth-fastest American marathoner ever, fourth-fastest in the half marathon, and former American record holder in the half marathon.

It is clear that she has put in the work to be a world class athlete. Her dedication to mastering her craft is on another level. Like any world class athlete, she has organized her life to be her absolute best, and potentially the best. But what stands out about Sara is how she has organized not just her outward life, like her actions around training and recovery, but how she has organized her whole life around a deep, meaningful, and lasting purpose to love God and others.

In this conversation, Sara shares her faith story and how
her faith has allowed her to overcome the fear of failure and run with joy and peace. She describes her purpose and why she is still running. She also shares about her compassion for others, especially the poor and vulnerable. Sara's approach to running is one that brings real joy and peace, so there is much to gain from her insights, for runners or anyone getting after their craft.
