Description
Vanessa, the Founder & CEO of Girls Talk, a globally recognised organisation, spearheads the development of innovative products and services connecting over 56,000 women with businesses in over 37 countries. The organisation achieves this through digital products, bespoke programs, and events, with a mission to democratise access to opportunities in traditionally male-dominated sectors, empowering women to advance in their careers.
Under Vanessa's leadership, Girls Talk has collaborated with renowned companies like Apple, Amazon, Meta, and more, facilitating diverse talent connections at all organisational levels.
Vanessa herself has earned accolades, ranking #15 in the Financial Times, Yahoo Finance, and EMpower's Top Ethnic Minority Future Leaders List across Europe, the U.S., and Canada. She has also been recognised as one of the 30 People Changing The World by the London Business School and as one of London’s Most Influential People by the Evening Standard Newspaper. Vanessa actively contributes to the advisory board of She of the Sea and serves as a Sub-Committee Board Member of Refuge.
In her current role as the Founder of The Hill App, Vanessa is pioneering technology to streamline the global hiring process for female talent, aiming to connect 1 million women in 140 countries to job opportunities while optimising costs and time in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
This week we delve into the critical issues of toxic workplace cultures, relationships, and Vanessa's transformative journey, impacting the lives of thousands.
The episode includes a personal account from Vanessa about her experiences with violent domestic abuse. While we share her story with the intention of offering support and understanding to those in similar situations, we recognise that the content may be distressing for some listeners, especially those who have experienced domestic abuse.
