Since Pride Month in 2022, the political right has mobilized an offensive attack on the LGBTQIA+ community in the name of the culture war. For many mental health experts, such opposition, specifically to transgender individuals, causes physical and psychological stressors. However, one clinical psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson argues that the backlash against gender expression is necessary to maintain the stability of western civilization, which is built on masculinity, the traditional family unit, and the natural order.
